Great feedback guys.

Nuto said she would help coordinate a meeting in Melbourne around March.

Bryan nice idea about setting a date in Brisbane to coincide with State of Origin.

Both Melbourne and Brisbane are excellent choices.

I don't agree with that at all.

I've been to Brisbane, and QLD in general a lot, and as someone who doesn't really appreciate having tourists everywhere all year round, I have to say that I didn't enjoy that about QLD.

I would be happy to travel up for a couple of days thought later in the year if I am around and join in for what Robe has planned.

My first vote goes to Melbourne though. Its really a very cultural and diverse city with something for everyone, and alot of fun places to go.

However I had the idea...

What if we all chipped in $x dollars (depending on how many are coming), lets say $20 each, and rented out a conference hall? Paid on the day to the organizers, and that pays for some snags, drink, the hall, etc.

I think (not 100%) that DreamWorld actually has a package for businesses and groups that allows you to go into the park for the day and have a lunch, and rent out a hall inside dreamworld. I'll check up on that.

But if we're going to do this, lets do it right :P.

EDIT:

They're expensive though :P

after acutally reading the whole thread...

DREAMWORLD FTW!!!

yeah, dreamworld would be good, but its like 44,000 just to get that thing in the thing, and that works out to be $88 per person, IF you get 500 people to go otherwise its more

I think Dreamworld would be awesome.

I've already talked it over with Whitey, and he said he'd go up with me if it ends up being Dreamworld.

Only issue is that its a costly location. Entrance for adults is about 66 dollars and thats not including the flights to get up to the Gold Coast, which I have looked into and are about 90 dollars each way from Melbourne (less from Sydney), and the food in there is marked up like buggery.

I'm sure Robe has something good in mind though.

For anyone who is interested in having a slightly less formal get together in the Melbourne area within the next two months, please PM me with your interest, and I will put together a list of suggestions and activities/location etc.
