blooper wrote:Lol nice speeches and all. But Deity if you and Nuto are so busy and still go on the internet to play a game, then you need to get some sort of professional help because I would say you are clearly well on the way to getting addicted to computers if you arent allready. People who forsake sleep to *Mod* or play a game have some serious social issues. How long do you reckon before you stop washing, showering, caring for your personal hygiene to post on the forum instead do you reckon?

I agree mods need to be respected because they are only following the rules but dude... I find all that sympathy garbage you spat out about working all day then coming back to mod for us...lol..that is just sad. If you dont have reasonable time to play/post then a simple thing to do is to NOT BOTHER!!

Jeeze...whats wrong with you people....

I understand what you mean, however, it is not an issue of having a life. It is someone that has enjoyed the game so much that they would like to do something for the community they grew into.

A lot of us are pretty busy with life in general, as the annoyed people who try to contact me via MSN will attest

blooper wrote:Im sure I mentioned mods need to be respected because they are just enforcing the rules...missing sleep to mod or play an online game is bloody daft. Please enlighten me as to how it is not and then I may understand what you are on about

It only means that we have such a strong feeling of responsibility that we take time out, regardless of how crappy we feel to mod the forums and keep it good for you guys. :)

@ Tom Twin

I do believe that if everyone simply left the jobs they didnt enjoy then we would live in a world of miscrients and street dwellers.... so that as an answer leaves something to be desired

The mods stick around when it would be much easier for them to throw their hands up and walk away and for that perseverance I am truly greatful...

It seems to me that if people don't see where this topic is originally coming from then the word empathy has truly no meaning to you, and I must say if that is true then this community is in a much worse state then I had hoped..

Oh and for those of you that don't know

Empathy :The imaginative projection into another's feelings, a state of total identification with another's situation, condition, and thoughts. The action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without explicitly articulating these feelings. Wow great post once again.

I can only say i am impressed bye the great work some do in the hope to keep the forum clean.

I will allways have only a really small part but at least the small bits i can do those wonders dont have to do.

Contiue your good work and hope that people come to understand that acting as mod is not acting as player. But since i doubt that some see that i can only offer all mods the following.

If you are massed/ have to suffer ingame for your modding contact me and i will see what i can do to help you rebuild.

thanks for everything you do for us

Yea I know. It must really hard eh?

As stated the hard part is not neccessarily doing the job, rather having to put up with the consequences of doing it

again. not HAVING to, but choosing to :-)

if it was so bad and couldnt but up with it/didnt like to argue back or have power to ban someone....yadda yadda ect ect.

mods arnt forced to do anything, just comply to do their job which they wanted to do. getting argued against now and again would be more than expected

My friend I honestly agree that arguments with mods will happen, such is the nature of the job.....But any problem with a person should always be expressed with respect, unfortunatley respect is something that is sorely lacking with people who "express" their issues with mods

yes society is full of nasties. so why not keep them in a place they can be seperate from people wanting fun and convo? no reason why not, which is why a flamer forum is a great idea :)

EDIT: to stay on topic, good job mods for taking your time to clense forum. i wouldnt give my time to do.

Something tells me that wouldn't turn out much better than the short-lived 'Unmoderated General'. This is a forum. There are standards of conduct applied to the whole forum. Get used to it or go somewhere else.

Contiue your good work and hope that people come to understand that acting as mod is not acting as player.

Unfortunately, some don't understand that. Some even refuse to understand it. Modding can be a thankless job, since many hate you for doing it, and others take order for granted. Me, I just give silent thanks to the mods here and report the occassional post to an applicable mod.

very nice Deity :) i would further like to add that moderators, us, are only here to make the forum pleasant... otherwise you'd have lots of violence and very little care or respect which would affect the game in so many negative ways :)

I personally respect and appreciate every mod for what they do, even when I don't agree with them.

Great post Diety, I enjoyed such a difficult read..............sarcasm.

I agree with Lore, he said it perfectly.

As for the whole abuse towards mods situation, it makes no sense. People complain about the forums. That is all they do, complain. What has ever been accomplished by complaining? Nothing, you can sit and say what is wrong with the forum, but if you never do anything to try to fix it, you are making the problem worst.

Also, what is with all the lack of respect these days. Vulgar pms, and the such. Nuto As a delgate of the male race, I apologize, men are not all that way. So please remember that, don't let a couple people sully men as a whole. Also, what has using rude messages such as that ever accomplished? Nothing, that is!

Summary: Criticize constructively, or not at all. You are not helping by just criticizing, come up with an alternative.
