Now we get to the root of the issue. The newer players cannot get a large bank. These same players are going to have to deal in some REAL level of resources, which likely exceeds their bank capacity. We're talking reality here. People don't generally sell 5bil worth of resources at a time.

then vote to have mPPT's give the 10% bonus, and if it is put back, go on 1-2 PPT's a week till you have a decent bank, and in that yime, bank size dosnt matter anyway, cause for 2 days your whole realm is a bank.
easy.

why didn't he just add the leakage but leave the naq going straight into the bank, so you pay for the benifit, like a overdraft.

so rather then leaking the money out the bank would take away some over banked naq as a penalty each turn?

yep, better that than losing all, plus it helps the smaller player

leave the leaking naq in... there are a few tasty targets already leaking naq at 6bill a turn which is sweet
be they will be angry when they check their logs

I haven't had the time to read through a lot of the posts here, but:
I just ascended and an awaiting to get my resources I moved from my co, and saw something of a flaw in the way it's set up now.
I just ascended and am on PPT, building during the time. Let's say that I never did ascend, and am selling resources to overbank. What would stop me from setting up brokers before I go(or during my time on PPT) and do my trades then? I will be able to overbank, and can't be attacked for naq in the open. Then just come online sometime during the 48 hour period and move those resources.
This would make the 1% leak and bank changes ineffectual, wherein I could set up brokers during a one time a week PPT.
I mention this as someone who has realized that it will happen, unless the 1% leak is attackable even on PPT, in the course of ascending exactly when the update has come out(due to chance alone).
I guess the only ethical thing to do is to ask for brokers that don't go over bank capacity, until a work around for this is made.
Didn't post in bugs because this has not been tested.

wasn't aware that the 10% bank increase got removed.
If that is true then you have my vote to bring back the bank increase for the MSS.

Unless you would like to somehow demonstrate how the update benefits weaker players, then you can simply be silent.
And if you took the time to actually investigate and research all that has been said with regards to this issue of the update then you would in turn learn that I have already spoken out about the unfairness of a particular point of the update with regards to smaller players, that being the removeful of the 10% bank increase given through a market ppt.
I did not simply lodge a baseless accusation that some players have used personal connections to influence the creator/owner of the game, which is abosolutely perposterous at best. So I stand by my orginal assertion, you know nothing.
Now if you really want to get into how this update benefits the smaller players you don't have to look any further than the MPDSD. This gives the smaller (notice I didn't say weaker just because a player doesn't have an army size of 20mil doesn't mean they are "weak" and to insinuate otherwise is just plain naive if not insulting) players a way to have one planet that they can effectively protect permentantly if they so desire, or several planets they can protect over a course of a few days, or a combonation there of.

Theres also the ability to create planets which will be usefull for those smaller players that cant use thier MT's, atleast not effectively, and cant hold the 30bill for selling them, they can get good planets which are easy to keep as they come out weaker. and so, are less desirable to the larger players.

The Change to the banking system sucks....
So much for attracting new long term players to the game and so much for bringing the game into ballance.

people keep using the arguement that new players wont be able to get as large as the current big players because they wont have a limitless bank
well guess what? up until the broker came out a few months ago, NOBODY had a limitless bank. the players who are currently large got there by sending naq to friends, by investing in weapons. saying that new players wont be able to handle this is false for a number of reasons:
1)throughout the period in which this has been possible, new players have not had access to P2P benefits, and as such they had to do it ALL via weapons and miners.
2)it is not unbalanced towards stronger players with larger banks. when i first started i had to ask for a loan of the 400mil it cost me to buy my market SS. my bank size wasnt even that large. new players will have to learn to live with what those of us who have been here for more than a few months took for granted. that a LIMIT was exactly that.
why else do you think there was a limit in the first place. did you really and honestly think that it was just there for show, or did u realise that overbanking was an unintended feature? for the majority the answer is the latter

As I have posted elsewhere but cannot find it. I feel there should be a button similar to the accept back a rejected trade button for trades that have been completed or have expired.
It would get round this whole problem very nicely.
People could not overbank yet what I regard as legitimate trades of UUs for Spy levels etc could continue. If you don't have the bank capacity you can bank the cash but you can get it going into the open at a time of your choosing rather than at the time of the person accepting the broker.
At the moment I am having to get my trade partners to set up trades so that I get to choose when the cash appears for me despite the fact that my Bank capacity can hold it because of the bug where it puts all trades into the open on acceptance.
Accept changes adapt and move on, there are plenty of ways for smaller players to grow. I personally have helped many players in my time grow from small beginnings. I was the ex CO of Visentinel he grew by learning the art of raiding. Think outside the box...

I'm a little confused about talk of strategy and skill. What particular skills are highlighted by going on PPT twice a week for an indefinite period of time?
gordash wrote:people keep using the arguement that new players wont be able to get as large as the current big players because they wont have a limitless bank
I don't know who said that, but that's not the issue. The issues is what do these changes mean for a newer player and a older player, and particularly the former's ability to catch up to the latter.

Thank you!
The distinction has to be made between the serious new player (one who wants to succeed, but started late) and the average new player (one who plays at their leisure). This game (like all text-based MMORPGs) is in need of a new blood, people who are actually going to make competition, and they're needs to more encouragement for them to do that.
