Shooting Star wrote:As Munchy said, you can only be hit by the weapon every 30 days. Now, given the fact that you have 48 hours to use the weapon once it enters your realm and it takes 24 hours to enter the realm of the person being hit, that is a maximum of five days between hits. So you would need a minimum of six accounts just using the weapon on each other and probably at least ten, just to be sure. Frankly, I don't mind giving up some income to help others in the game. But I would rather there weren't such a thing as the super weapon in the game or if it were less "broken". I have a few ways in which the weapon can be fixed.
1.) Remove the weapon from the game completely. It is broken and is designed as a "Screw the top accounts" weapon.
2.) Make the damage fixed (not a fixed percentage but a fixed amount). Destroying ALL weapons, regardless of how many you have and 5% of all planets, regardless of how many you have and untraining all the rest of your planets, regardless of how many you have is absolutely a "screw you for playing so well" update. Or make the damage based upon the strength of the account using it ie. if someone with 5 million planets hits me with the weapon, they can destroy 5% of 5 million planets or 250K planets. They could destroy a number of weapons equal to the number that they currently possess. And they could untrain a number of planets equal to their planet total - 5%. That is something that I could live with.
Whether the rest of you could live with it if I hit you with the weapon is something else entirely.
3.) Put a damage cap on the weapon. Jason, I know you are all about damage caps. Lord knows I have to put up with a a lot of them that are NOT in my favor (ie. descension). How about a damage cap on the ascended super weapon that is in my favor? It does X% of your planets up to X amount of planets at 10 million planet size or 20 million planet size. But the damage has to stop somewhere. Me losing 5 million planets when someone else only loses 250K is ridiculous, unfair, and just downright mean to people who have worked hard to obtain a position of power only to be deballed at every turn.
Well we can get together and come up with enough people if need be. Your call mate.
I also agree with you on having the power of the weapon be tied to the power of the relm using it(except in the case of a relm that has just been destroyed with it. That relms power should be the power level before it was destroyed)
Overall this idea is broken.
IF you are a low ranking player and you get the weapon if you don't care about the game and you use it on an account that is an active playing account then whats fair about that???
IF you are an active playing account and get the SW your not going to be stupid enough to use it on anyone bigger then you as them and their friends will simply deascend you and sit on you from now on. Since you will never be able to grow and they can deascend you every 30 days whats the point?
I definitely agree the idea is broken.

Dont like the superweapon at all.
I dont think there is need for another way of destroying someone when you can kill every planet someone posses anyway, and then descend them effecting their main account.

Jason please FIX""""""!!!! the SW so it isnt so deveststing or just prefereably remove it entirely.
Ascension was fine before the SW it will be so again if you remove it.
Altho as Mojo Says , if you keep it like it is he will just continue to keep it out of the hands of everyone at a cost to himself , which will keep the big players down.

The DM distribution means that it is possible for a reasonably large coalition to recover a very large portion of the money spent on the super weapon, allowing them to effectively pay less for a winning bid than the losing bidder would have.
Perhaps it would be better if the DM spent to purchase the Super Weapon, instead simply left the game. We could certainly use a money sink in this game, unless we really want to end up as the main server, with everyone and their uncle pushing the population caps.
Just my thoughts,

I like to think the server is slowly becoming more active. If the DMU just leaves the game it helps no one. Right now the way it is set up is really helping the smaller player be able to farm for amounts that are profitable to them.

I disagree here... Sure if a mega ascended alliance 'wanted' to spend 15 AT for 100-200 mill I'd welcome them to; It seems to me that such would hurt, rather than recoup losses, for the larger players that constitute those alliances.
As it stands, by reading the forum, I was able to eagerly countdown to the bid end, and achieve around 500% growth (We're not talking much to start with)... Got massed for it later but meh.
My only qualm is that, as others have said, we insure the bid does not have a fixed end time; so as to make sure all newer players have a shot at making, and missing the farm fest.

I understand the concept of throwing it down some ascended black hole however... and perhaps it may come to that... If the distrubution starts reaching a billion-per n00b... that might get out of hand.
