yes, that is the essence of this idea...
The Mighty ANUBIS wrote:ps max bonus should be 10%. so it shall look like this:
single raced: normal race 10% ascended 7%
2 races normal 5% ascended 3%
3 races: normal 2.5% ascended 2%
4 races: normal 1.5% ascended 1%
ascended count as normal when applying total bonuses
example:
5 tauri
2asgard
1 system lord
this makes normal bonus 2,5% and ascended 2%
i hope u get it
thanks for reworking the numbers... the numbers we had posted were made up as examples, and before any feedback...

Doesnt this thing kinda take away the possibility to have diversity in alliances? I mean, in a war, not everyone wants to have a big strike, maybe someone prefers relying on income and big def instead of farming, someone does the sabbing/ACing etc..

no, it doesnt remove diversity, it just helps those alliances that focus their power...

there was, or at least should have been, a system to prevent it from being taken advantage of... that inactives simply dont count...

So maybe use the rank as a variable for the Bonus it give.
inactive player tend to go down in the ranking system.
each member of an alliance should count equally.
10% max, 10 people minimum in an alliance.
it give something like :
(10 / 10( member count) ) = each member give max bonus of x% (in this case 1%)
Pa = rank 3
Pb = rank 10
Pc = rank 250
Pd = rank 279
Pe = rank 1568
Pf = rank 1571
Pg = rank 1610
Ph = rank 2250
Pi = rank 3279
Pj = rank 11568
Total = 22388
Pa = 1 - (3/22388)) = 0,9998% = 1% (full bonus)
...
Pj = 1-(11568/22388) = 0.4832% = 0,48% (less than half of the bonus allow to the player )

rank is too easy to manipulate...

Aggreed that rank are easy to manipulate, but the lower your rank is the less you give to your alliance.

good for some reason but poor for so many others.
eg
Stacks the odds even further against those who do not belong to alliances.
Your idea of making sure people were active would not work, as all the multies would have to do would be to log in and they would appear to be active.

Interesting concept, but like was mentioned before... I can see many sub-alliances being created.
Using the DD as an example :
DD Strike Team all tauri
DD Covert Team all replicators
DD Treasury all asgards and goa'ulds
You'd have to go to war with 3-4 alliances.
Only way I can see this coming into play is if the bonuses pertained only to alliance wars and not individual one-on-one raids and naq hits.

i dont like the difrent % for income and def and attack and whatnot i think if you are to give a % to a player it shoudl be to all the stats so it shoudnt matter what race you are for your percent.

Apologies if it's already been kicked around, I'm too lazy to go through all the posts but would put in my 2c anyway...
Alliances containing "different races" should be
*more fragile* not stronger. Come on folks, be reasonable. The very idea of an alliance of goa'uld, asgard, replicators and tauri (and throw in a few ascended) being anything other than "one insult away from turning into a gooey mess" is simply ludicrous.
Sure, give alliances of the same race a bonus. Take something AWAY from alliances with mixed race. Give people NOT in alliances a bonus.

i dont think taking away bonuses for mixed alliance would be a good thing cause the would take away peoples freedom to have whatever kin of alliance they want. and yes the less % for mixed alliances has been talked about.

And this would make mixed race alliances more fragile and less stable... Isn't that the point, isn't that how they *should* be? It doesn't take away anybody's freedom to have whatever kind they want, though...
Of course the "penalty" for having a mixed race alliance just needs to be thought out, so as to make it not "crippling" so much as at a slight disadvantage which could be compensated for with larger numbers...
Also still very interested to see if there's any possibility of a small bonus for those flying solo... I love flying solo...
