With as long as it takes some people to reach those cap levels, a lot of people will get bored with the game and quit most likely. Do I like the caps...no. But they are a part of the game. I think that once you reach the 75 million mark you should only be able to grow by means of RAW UP (no planets, etc). They would be able to grow wherever it should lead size wise, and it would slow the growth of those players, but still allow them to grow some without having to wait for the rest of the universe to catch them. It gives them incentive to keep playing and keep striving also. Just my opinion though.

I'm ok with the idea all except the planets. Unless I get all the naq back for them that is totally unfair to anyone with up planets.

Lore, you're right, but then again, the new update screwed my UP planets now so...what's the difference. I was just trying to come up with an idea that would slow growth a bit like things already implanted into the game concerning brokering and raiding past a certain size. If you left it simply to RAW UP, those guys could continue to grow but very slowly (well, depending on high your RAW is), but you would still be growing in size and not just waiting for others to catch up.

Also, allowing the caps to be open would allow some players to not get massed as much. Some people with huge armies like to just mass to get rid of men so they can continue to grow. But the people they mass lose everything while it takes the masser five minutes to get everything back. Loosening the caps would allow for continued growth and not as much boredom massing because they would now have something to shoot for.

If you have gained all of your objectives in a game then the game starts to become less and less fun which could be why we've had some high profile people retire from the game. The challenge of the admin will be to continue to create something for those players, whether through continued growth rates or a new realm. I don't like tons of game updates (already stated I know) but if something is going to change, perhaps it should be in this area.

well they would control the selling market and since others cant come in they could charge exuberant prices and the average joe could do nothing about it they would have a monopaly

I think there definately needs to be more control in terms of who can sell on here. It used to be you need 15? (30?) posts before you could post buy/sell threads. I think that is the start of a good idea, just needs to be added to.

A panel to set the price of UU/naq/etc is better than a panel that says who can buy and sell. For me, im already buying and selling outside of this market. It wouldn't be too hard to setup another forum (if there isn't already), where you can buy and sell freely, completely bipassing the panel, or continue to buy/sell with current contacts. Half my msn SGW contacts have in their name "selling XYZ" LOL. But COMBINED, a panel that also MASSES people who buy/sell that aren't allowed to, THAT will be enough to police it. You'd obviously need a few volunteers:
a team to handle reports of unauthorised trading
a team to do the massing

I know its a free game, but admin has already set some small limit on trading, with regards to excess resources, so its fair enough for players to take their own action :)

As for a program that can be used by the panel, it wouldn't take more than a few hours to setup a website that you could submit reports to, the panel to browse through and investigate, and other useful tools.

Oh and Booper, i can see how it will become boring to loose 100k UP once you get to 100 mil. But i'd think its fairly irrelevant by then. 30 mil army size is big enough to keep a player for a VERY long war. 100 mil is just crazy amounts of naq income, and not much else. So really, even if the limit was raised to 150 mil, 200 mil, 500 mil, 1 bil (:o), people will still reach it, and get bored.

How do you think it fair to let people invest so much naq in something and then just take it away without any form of compinsation?

So you think that if all attack planets stopped working at 100 Bill strikes that is fair?

As much as it sucks, if that's the new twist in town, then that's the new twist.

like I said, if you want all the naq back that was invested into your UP planets, then you should lose all the UU you've gained from them, which then includes all the naq u'd gain from having those uu as miners, etc. etc.
