Sorry to break the lines of conversation, but I need to say something.

I am a christian and i would really appreciate it if my christian fellow forum members could particularly pay attention.

Due to current circumstances, i have to pay more attention to my education, as such i will not be posting here as much as i once did.

i am heading into a stressful time, and i'd like to ask for prayer, just that i'd get through okay and get the marks I need from my final year in school.

I assume by 'certain things' you mean reactions that do not (at least superficially) progress from evolution and natural selection... guilt over obscure things, conscience, self-denial, pursuit of religion, etc.?

Yup. That's what I mean. I know that basically they are just nerve signals but how comes we developed them? Wonder what Taure have to say about this. I am a man of science (at least big part of me is) but can't find any other answer than God giving us what we call soul.

Because I started this post and am in some way responsible for what goes on here also it is a nice thing to apologize in adavnce if someone may be injured or insulted. I wasnt apoligizing for my actions, I was apoligizing for the fact that they may be insulted lol. I just want this to be a place of open dialogue, a place everyone will feel welcome to come to and ask questions or express ideas openly

sin, as we know, can be an "action" or a "state of mind". i have the problem with that "state of mind" sins. what does that "state of mind" exactly means in this context and when is it a sin?

If you look at a girl, and envision dirty thoughts, in my mind that is sin. If you notice the beauty of a woman (not sure about married or not), there is nothing wrong with it, because God created us to notice. If we didn't notice women at all, then I wouldn't get married

thats how I see it, although rather differently, seeing I'm not male...

Where is the line between observing beauty and feeling lust? Humans are built for reproduction, if there was no lust then a relationship would not go past the handholding stage. Can you even really control "sinful" thoughts? I probably swear several hundred times a day in my head, is that be a sin? I do not really believe in the concept of sin, basing morality off of intentions seems pretty silly to me. What matters is what someone does not what they think. It is the action that matters to society. to society maybe yes, but attempting murder it's still a crime.

and don't really put history into this cos i can easily destroy your reasoning (it's a sand-pile game: your grandparents are responsible for solving the world hunger, cos they gave live to your parents, your parents gave live to you and you bought that book... ah... what about the author of the book?... and that fella who lend him the money to pay the publisher?... and it was raining that day, so the notes got almost destroyed, so the guy that manufactured that plastic bag the money was in takes a credit too... and...)

my point here is you don't know the outcome until later (unless you're God, then you know and you're the only one able to judge the situation)

yes, solving world hunger outweighs the crime, but crime is still a crime in your example. the dilemma is when:
-thief wants to solve the world hunger and:
-he knows how to do that but needs one more information and:
-knows that this information is in that book and:
-there's no other way for him to get that book but to steal it from you.

yeah. this is exactly what i was asking about. if i think "i'm gonna shoot the (spacey would edit out)" cos i got a bit angry, but really i know i'm not gonna shoot anybody. is this a sin?
