when a mod DOES move it back, and then it's moved back by a different one, do you think we're not going to stand against what clearly is a biased mod?

The only way to stop this is to rewrite the rules so that they are black and white absolutely no gray whatsoever
I really do not believe one can create perfect comprehensive legislation that also removes discretion from the equation.
But, even if that were so - I ask you, how would it solve the current problem? We have two groups of moderators at odds, which group's interpretation of the rules, or proposed new rules, go into effect? We end with the same situation here.
So what to do? Get a broader base, and ask the community yes?
Well, two threads worth of opinions are locked, one is also moved - a third thread is in the mod section where this issue 'belonged' - and this thread is really only a hollow closure.
And really... this issue
has been closed and decided imho.
Though we are still waiting for recognition of that.

I'm sure you've seen the rules lately they are very gray and it's is possible to rewrite them so they are more black and white
Also you don't need to entirely remove discretion black and white rules would make the mod actions transparent thus any bias of a mod would be quickly seen and said mod should then be punished
It also means there's a lot less opportunity for a mod to be selective in their modding
Let us see your version of the rules first (the black and white ones) and have a discussion on those...

Im sure you can make better ones, lets do it:)

I have to add my 2 cents worth.
The forum has come a long way since the good old Bahamut posts. The language has improved a lot. That was welcome but the idea of not being able to taunt someone during a war or challenge is taking it too far. Part of the fun of the war is the slinging of words back and forth. Some of the posts get down right silly, some take on a very aggressive tone. They are war threads and it seems that some may take a while but eventually there is talk of ending it and the negotiations get started. If some are taking the mud slinging from a war personal then some people are going to get their feelings hurt. You can't dictate who is going to take certain thing the wrong way. Life would be grand if we could always step around issues like this. With some younger people playing here there is a greater likelihood of feelings being hurt since it takes some experience and time to develop the wisdom to know how to sort all of it out.
I don't think the roasting of opponents and mudslinging should stop. I do think it can be done without swearing at each other and without aggressively attacking the person them self. The claims of liar and cheat are all going to fly at some point so not sure you can do much there. Again it is a game action that is usually being called this.
To rule that you can't say such things is going too far. There is a medium point here that we should be able to find and function at. Some players play the role of irritants just to keep things riled up a bit. How much fun would it be if we all just agreed and got along. Most of the time what I see is a good hair pulling, biting and mud slinging war thread with hand shakes and pats on the back at the end. Most of the people I talk to now I have been bashing at at some point in time. I have fun talking to someone on msn as we mass each other's accounts. Some I can do this with and others are so offended that I hit their account they just call me names at first. It is the difference in our personalities and won't go away.
Rules won't work since all words are open to interpretation so there will be misunderstandings and differences of opinions on what they mean unless the are absolute as in NO mudslinging allowed. In that case, war threads will be just posts of logs and no interaction. The forum is here to encourage interaction of the players. No mudslinging or insults then you might as well remove the forum.
