Mukasa wrote:@Wolf359- I know yeah..last year..how messed up was the market..much much more than now..but..there has to be a way...
How about: Admin doesn't basicly reset the market...he only lowers the price from like 4,5b now to like 2b for 250 at's and 10,200 lifers....that would be ok....if i'm not too confused because of all that vodka....if this happens...prices will fall....people will be able to get at's cheaper of market, just buying mt's and prices for at's will go down....i'm positive...i think this happened last year..remember when there were no at's on amrket in like few hours after a load of at's came on market? prices went up like stuff, but when new load came, prices went down like stuff...same might be here..if prices fall on ingame market...they will fall on black market...also...i always though..that more at's are on market, cheaper it is...
Naquadah Lifers/MineSlave Units Turns
610,807,686,500,000 1,406,382,510 34,293,683
34m At's....i mean...isn't it that way: more resources on market, cheaper it is...34m atm..and when it get's down to like 15m...prices go up again..and then, when at 34m again, prices go down..it was just an example..but there are many many ways how to solve this...but it's just not possible when there are so many complains..yeah i know i complain too..but raiding is profitable for me still...i still get way more uu from rading than selling at's,although i sometimes sell em..like i did today...why not..still profit...
I know what you are saying - but it just doesn't work and is exactly the point I am getting at......
Eventually the ATs will run out, and as they do the prices will start to go up again, so Admin must again artificially produce more ATs - and so we get ourselves into a vicious little circle.
Another thing that was done to try to combat it was to increase the amount of AT per turn from 1 to 3 - but it didn't work - it just meant that those selling had more to sell.
The point is that ATs should be expensive as they are the most limited resource in the game. If you want something to blame the 'inflated prices' on, then you need look no further than 'raid'. And the only way to stop the 'inflated prices' is to remove raid from the game - but that's not going to happen.
So:
More ATs required because of the 'need' (?) to raid
+
ATs are the most limited resource in the game
+
Established demand for ATs
+
Willingness of buyers to pay sellers prices
=
Continuously increasing cost of ATs
Therefore, since raid is unlikely to be removed from the game, and there is no way to generate more AT (nor should there be - remember this is meant to be a turn (as in time) based game - although it is debatable that it stopped being such a long time ago!!), the only variables in the equation are demand and the wilingness of the buyers to pay the asking price. Demand is unlikely to fall (but can be controlled) and so the only variable that can be affected is the willingness to pay the prices. If every buyer turned around tomorrow and said 'No, we're not paying your prices', then the prices would start to drop - but as long as a few are willing to pay the price being asked, then the sellers will always have buyers at their preferred rate - so why should they lower it for someone else?

Raiding not worth it? uhh...
Untrained Kidnapped 153,594
Attack Turns Used 1,665
I can buy 2k by spending 1665... Yeah, its not the best but once in a while I can buy 3k with 1k turns spent... It is still worth it!

It's market dynamics at the work. If prices continue to go higher and people continue to pay for it, it only tells the sellers that that is going to be the new 'going price' of the product. If you all stop buying at the current 'high' prices, prices will naturally fall, because the sellers would (most likely) want to get rid of their stock of whatever they are selling.
Prices are going to keep going up in the long run and theres nothing you can do about it unless they introduce a system where miners, and other unspecified units can be killed. reason being is that every day there are more and more miners being added to the 'galaxy' and no way of really reducing them. That causes 'excess' naq being produced and it feeds into UP and other things. When people have more naq, they are going to be bidding higher also.

putting in a update so miners can be killed...bad idea...really bad....prices will be high...and players are growing..so they will never stop buying em..it will just be harder for some and easier for some..some grow way faster that prices grow up,some at the same speed..some are slower...

Miner killing wouldn't be so badly if they introduced it along side with an even more extreme version of the attack modifier rollback. (Remember April of 2005 anyone?

)
The more different comparative army size and rank, the less miners they can 'kill'.
As it stands though, inflation is to be expected if everyone gets huge incomes. I remember like 5 years ago from now that the cost of a child bus fare has pretty much doubled where I live. Adult is about .. 50 percent more.
They all still go the same places, just costs more to ride the bus.
