aye. if they don't bother means it makes no difference to them. just why they always moan after?
i was thinking about them ones voting for the ones that dont win. and since most of the voters are eejits, the winners are mostly eejits too... or skilled manipulators.

an old southern preacher, who i bet sounds in his accent a lot like Jack, once said to me "son, never trust a man about a heavenly experience if he's only had one so far."

this coming election will be my first, and I have to say it is too early for me to decide who I will vote for. Let the candidates come out and earn my vote on their own merit.

that said, Obama has piqued my interest with his statement of 'let the voters listen to what I have to say' about why he isn't wearing the flag pin anymore.

old yes, wise, not so much, as for this election, well, unlike other elections in the past, the moving of the primaries into such close dates of each other changes every thing. If Bill C was running for prez in this season, he would never have made it. He lost the first 2 primies he was in badly, but bonced back in the middle. So it is this year ( more so, if that is possible) all about the money and the spin. On the DEM side, Hillery got the cash, obam got the looks....my money is on an Hillery / onama ticket

On the gop side, man, as it's been said before about Republican primaries, it's ike a nucular war, the best cockroach will crawl out.

The last vote was my first, when were you in Texas and how long, and did you learn of the political structure of Texas? I assume you know how the voting system works

not sure of the in and out, but i believe if it's like the rest of america, the mandated electric voter machines to avoid a mishap like FLA> in 2000 are not in place. Tell me what u don't like jack, love to have a big picture view.

It is called gerrymandering, I live in a Republican county so my vote does not matter.

not so sure that the whole of the system is "rigged" Jack, and your point about redistricting is well taken. But , to avoid and null one of the basic rights given us simply for the reasons you give is not to me loci gal. If we do not use the right of the vote, even when faced with over whelming odds against having "our man win" , is like playing this game and only going after accounts you know you can beat. Kinda boring. Yes the system is flawed, and always has been ( at one time you could vote in bars, and political parties gave way free beer, talk about a swing vote). Voting is not abut winning, it's about voicing what YOU believe. Every time i hear the "i picked the lesser of two evils" speech i have to cheer. At lest they picked. In the late 20th century, one western nation, facing mounting economic pressures, home strife, and a lack of belief that any thing could change in there corrupt system began avoiding the voting booth. Then, in one election, a minor party came to power with only 12% of the vote based on the whole population. The Nazi party was very happy. Hitler was over joyed. Didn't work out so well for the polish, French and Jews. ( modded, but think u all know who i mean)

gore vidle said " America really only has one political party, they just argue with each other alot."

I am an independent, and like u Jack, lean towards the more conservative side in social and economic issues. Doesn't matter who u pick, as long as u have a clear idea of why your picking them. And that some times takes more than sound bites and slogans. So for all u first time voters, be aware . Listen to what they say, but listen closer to what they don't say.
