Okay, here's a really funny one, that also coincides with the Mod/community topic.
Yesterday I needed some quick naq, so naturally I looked in my attack logs first to see if there was anyone I could hit quickly to get some. I hit a number of people from my logs, but there was one guy in my attack logs who tried to hit me on Dec 24th, but failed - and who also hit me some time ago and succeeded, and I wasn't strong enough to retaliate.
Anyway - it was 1 attack against this guy for a total of 3.9 billion naq.
Subject: Vulturing
Message text:
Dont hit me im at war it is easy for a MOD to see... I was going to mass you but *** talked me out of it...
Just dont hit me again...
despite 'being talked out of it, he hit me several times.
However, here are the main points:
1. What the hell has it got to do with me being a mod?
2. It was partially a revenge attack on my part for the attack some time ago.
3. It's a war game - anyone who plays the game is a potential target.
4. He attacked me on December 24th, albeit he failed - He was in the same war then too - so it seems from his latest message that it is okay for him to attack me or anyone else when he is at war, but it isn't for people to attack him?
Slightly hypocritical at all?
I actually considered raiding the 150k or so UU he had out too (with 0 defence), but didn't.
Made me chuckle though!

Don't worry Wolf.
I laugh at people like that.
I also laugh at people who name their planets 'protected by xxxx'. Just goes to show how the game has changed these days.

Oh I'm not worried. Besides, I'm on reasonably good terms with his alliance leader.

Or at least I used to be.

Actually we want vultures in war in a way - cause when peace is declared and a nap is signed - we then have something to go out and smash to pieces.
So if an alliance is smart they will be recording all non-enemy hits on them during a war.

no, if an alliance is smart they will just rebuild their defenses asap and laugh as the "vultures" waste turns to get nothing except dead troops. Smart isn't wasting 1000 odd turns, some attack supers and a butt load of repair naq taking out some guys defense when all he did was steal a few billion off you during a war when if they hadn't stolen it, your enemies would have anyway.

No one is a vulture, if your stupid enough to have your defence removed you deserve to be farmed..
If you happen to be in a warzone and you come into a village, thats abandoned, but the streets are lined with gold and valuable things would you say oh yeah lets move on.. Ehhh of course not or if you found a 100 note on the street would you pass it by?? No didn't think you would..
The fact that people **Filtered** and moan about being farmed by "vultures" quite frankly makes you sound like a little cry baby even more..
If I could smack the lot of those people I would!!!

There is no such thing as vultures. There are people who take advantage of others when they are at war. An there are people who then abuse and manipulate their alliances 'vulture policy' to their own end.
I have been around a while and I don't know who started thinking they were qualified to judge other people as being vultures. But I know the term and it's defention do NOT apply to me even though I have been labeled as one twice by other people.
Now that may not seem like any big deal, but anyone that knows me as well as my CO does, knows that I do not normally farm, if at all. I would sooner give my ATs to my CO instead. But I have a feeling it will no longer be the case that the term 'vulture' will seem taboo, attacking people while not being at war with them will become the taboo. Farming will become a thing of the past and everyone who does not sell their ATs will be considered vultures.
Now..Shornaal *spits on the ground to get rid of the foul taste in his mouth* is someone whose really good at distorting the meaning of the word vulture.

Your point is lopsided and very narrow JS
now if there was an event such as a hurricane or flood and people evacuated and werent allowed back in and some people stayed there and began looting things and burgaling peoples homes, would that be considered fair or the right thing to do? answer
NO those people would be shamed and looked down upon and imprisoned if caught, they are RL vultures stealing when no one is able to protect there own stuff.
Ingame if i see someone farming my alliance generally a warning will go out first, if it continues then i mass its simple as that. they can retaliate if they want but i dont have anything to lose anyway so i feel that they should have to lose something in order to be entitled to those resources.

Just curious, wouldn't you rather the naq went to a neutral party rather than an enemy?

you don't have a choice if a hurricane hits you
you do have choice about having a defense

well in this issue i just feel the need to to quote my friend Nimras
If im at war and some one outside the war takes my naq: Thank u for keeping the naq from my enemy's that who'd use it against me.
If it some one i know that takes it that is good
If it some one i call a friend that is even better

All this hassle for calling people vulture ...
There is this old saying .. "all is fair in love and war"
If one is at war, zero defence, its plain stupidity to have high income ...
If your worried about your natural income ... go on ppt.
Either one should be able to retaliate (even afterwards) or should not point that damned accusing finger of vulturing ...
Even if there is a certain guideline on these forums what 'could' classify a person as being a vulture .... what good would it do ... just a smal portion of the players come to these forums regularly ...
anywayszz .. just my 2 cents
