i realy dont get all the negativaty aimed at sgu i think its good it leaves you trying to figure stuff out every week the ancient back story is good , the only thing i think is wrong with it is the over use of the comunications stones,
i think rush's caracter is awsome should we hate him or should we love him i cant decide
young is a loose cannon making rash decisions one eposode telling the lucion alliance guys he can never trust them then letting them wander the ship
telford cool guy looking forward to him returning
eli needs to step up a bit he is gathering dust
Chloe intresting storie
Greer awsomness incarnate

Nicely said... We too are rather annoyed by the negativity projected by some here...
If you dislike it so much, then
why in the name of Niflheim are you watching it?While we do not care for or against the level of their use of the communication stones, we do agree that your character descriptions are quite apt...
Eli does need to do more, he has great potential, yet he does not fully utilize it....
Chloe is beginning to come into her potential now, and we are eager to see how she does it...
Telford suffers from the problem any double/triple agent will suffer. Nobody's sure whether to trust him...
Not much to say about Col. Young, since you described him perfectly... Though that also fits a bit for M.Sergeant Greer. The difference between the two in behavior is that Greer has someone to rein him in, Young does not. That makes Greer more interesting, since you never know if he'll go all the way, or if he'll be reined in...
We do wonder exactly what happened to Chloe... But we're sure we'll learn, eventually... We also wonder how long Rush will be able to keep his little secret...

I love this show, don't get me wrong here guys but some of this is getting to far away from the original type of show. Wouldn't you agree?
Does this feel like Stargate to you? Or does this feel like BSG? Be honest now.
I never liked BSG, so I'm having a bit of downside to this. The IOA Woman just..really bugs me and gets under my skin. Her side of the story is everyone's side of the story, except lesbian. Everyone is stressed. Everyone is having a hard time with their loved one, coping, etc and it's just like the writer threw those types of scenes in there because they needed to give her a part in each episode.
It bugs me.
Other then all of that - I absolutely love this show. It's interesting, and has a side to it that Stargate never did. It has less fighting, jokes, etc but it's a new side to Stargate we never got to see and I'm enjoying it.

sci fi genera is evolving..
star trek, sg1 and sga relied mainly on the story to movie the show on.. shows like BSG and SGU are relying on the characters. Similar to what happened other genre of novels..
those genre unfortunately are now dead.. hopefully this doesnt happen to sci fi.
btw, they got rid of Talford because they did not want 3 people leading the **Filtered**.. Rush and the Col alrady are fighting. Talford would be the third.. so they got rid of him.

While its a reasonable reason, we've got to disagree with you on the telford case... Why? because he has at least two more episodes to appear in... first one being next week...

Telford is not going to die off that easily, so I agree with Zeratul regardless of him appearing in next week's episode or not.
Telford will probably make peace, etc.

yeh SGU is more like BSG than SG-1 and SGA
but dare i say it, that's a good thing
character development in sci-fi is usually shelved and explosions given more important
tbh i prefered BSG to SG-1, and im liking the direction SGU is going in

Just a question - Are you people getting your episodes on Tuesday or Friday?
I get mine every Tuesday before the people on Sci-Fi get theirs..

we get ours not too long after they're released, providing we remember to acquire them.

I get it when i wake up the day after it's been on
Also SGU is alot like BSG alot of my friends who hated Stargate and Atlantis are watching it and think it's one of the best shows on TV at the moment...after Dexter....They like that it is dark and the don't figure out the problem in 42 min and head home...I have tried to tell them about the Ori and the long back storys of both the other SG programs but they think its rubbish (saying that nicely).
I also think they like it because of Rush...When ever we talk about it he gets referred to as Begbie then the convo moves over to Trainspotting
