It was a great result! I've always thought that yes, Messi is probably the most technically proficient player to ever play the game, but you close him down and Barca dry up. Anyone who scores such a huge percentage (60 odd goals already this season) is bound to be missed when not on form or 'handled'.
Refs in Spain are afraid of Barca and their skill on the ball gets them alot of freekicks and such. But if Barca were in the Premiership, they wouldn't be as dominant. To beat Barca, you don't play like them. You close them down swiftly and impose your physical presence. And which league is famed for that? Curiously enough, I always thought a 'lesser' English team would have done better against Barca rather than Man U, Arsenal or Man City, simply because of the styles of play.
