Actually, that's not true. CO's lose naq for the first officer they have. The current officers are the ones that actually suffer for each new officer added as their percentage of the 30% is what gets affected. The CO's 30% remains constant.

You are correct. I stand corrected. But, the fact remains that COs still loose up to 30% NAQ when they take in officers.

why take on officers, you people ask...

some reasons:
  • you have more experience than them, so you can teach them how to play
  • they are weaker than you, and you might want to help them grow
  • you're a nice guy? (or gal?) so you share your income
  • you feel they deserve aid?

the officer system was originally designed so that the larger can help the smaller grow, both in size and in experience... it wasnt meant to be used as a source of extra growth for the commander...

if as a commander all you care about is what you gain from your officer, then you dont deserve to have officers...

Zeratul that is a very idyllic look on things but realistically go look at the comander rankings, then tell me how many on the first page have over 1 officer......reason being there all in up circles or naq, so hardly any of the larger army sized people bother with any officers because all the big people are competing to beat eachother, there has to be some benifit of having officers or your going to lose massive amounts of ground on the largest players.

yes, it is a bit idyllic, isnt it?

its rather obvious that being able to be in circles will soon enough stop being possible... so the whole officer layout is likely to change...
