well you cant throw that one my way. Until I posted this topic I have ALWAYS defended the moderators, the admins and the forum team, even when I myself was NOT a race mod.

no i think its more like people took it as you calling others children. Which actually seems quite acceptable. I mean its not ok to call someone a retard, but to call someone a child and imply they are less socially, mentally and physically developed then everyone else (in this sense the only difference I can see between the retard and the child being the degrees to which the formentioned features are less developed and the fact one can be changed) is apparently ok and not warning worthy.

note to Semper: First of all to many mods ? euhmm were did u got that idea. Isn't it needed that their is some control in these boarders or u want a boarder full with hatred and foolishness ? Cus u know damn well 10 mods ARENT enough to keep the forums clean...

I don't think it's too many mods. I think it is not enough section mods to keep everything covered so that the super mods jump in and take out the warning and ban stick and seem to be too strict on some users while many other things are overlooked.

I also think that the current rules leave too much room for interpretations. Clear guidelines for the mods would help. Transparency would also be nice e.g. make those guidelines public so the users can see if they have been treated fair or not.

well i'm just surprised how some of the members here can demand these kind of things ...

i just can't see how a visitor of a forum can assume he may act as he wishes on the forum and dictate his own rules
i am even more suprised to see how 'few' people actually get banned on this forum considering the things i read on here from time to time...if anything the mods should be more strict and straighten out the community, not the other way around...i fail to see how the mods are supposed to please the community, it's the other way around

of course some ppl get power-hungry ... but why? it's because some mods play this game called SGW that's all about power.
I honestly think no mod should play the game... how can you play this game, not be influenced by its politics and keep your objectivity to all members of the forum? impossible i say, you can try to convince me of the otherwise but i'll never believe you i am very sorry.
at the same time allowing players to mod allows users to complain about mods being biased...be it so or not, being called biased is something a moderator does not want to hear, hence endangering the moderator's objectivity even more.

so maybe a small conclusion from my pov;
we need stricter policing to straighten out the community
no moderator has ingame ties (so does not play)
the community has no right to complain about moderator policing (it's a public forum yes, but it's owned privately and that owner has full rights on it and can divide these rights over others as he pleases)

A stricter system would result in disaster. Your right to some degree that in a perfect world, the mods would not be game users, but as they are and as im not sure that can change (hurray for the day it does) then we have to address the current ways. I would certainly say, going back to my first point, that being stricter would be disastrous. The mods need to be charismatic, very sharp, they need to know and be able to use the rules excellently, and understand how far to go, and like I have said, such as a broken record I seem to be, see that shade of grey. Where if someone calls an insult, that is taken badly, you approach them, you ask them with respect to change it, apologize, then you start with the warnings. Communication. Ive been a mod of many a forum, I know it works, and it works dam well.

Did I say ten? I thought I said twenty. Certainly in my suggestions I have used about 20 easily.

As for the shouting of burn the witches. No. I dont do shouting. I just do burning, and like I say. Ive never gone against the mods or forum team before. This is a first for me, ive always bit my tongue, allowed them to adapt, grow and fit their roles, they havnt, now im calling for a reformation to a completely new system.
