I agree - the current lack of ATs controls the farming. With the easy assassination, no defence can really safeguard your DMU. I mean, in main it takes a bit of effort to mass down a large defence to take naq, but in ascended it is fairly easy to assassinate a def. With more turns the server would probably turn into a total farmfest for a few weeks, and then we'll (I will, at least) end up untraining everything. That can't be good for the server. I like the AT generation balance as it is.

Lore, there is a time when conversion of turns is useful. When I started ascention again back in June with a new account the only thing I could do with my turns on day 1 was convert them. Couldn't believe that there was a 5-1/5 rule and certainly couldn't believe it would apply to someone with 4 planets. You can't really find anyone under 20 planets to attack lol.
Funny thing was that after a day and a bit I had 125 planets growing at about 40000 a day. So whilst on day 2 the conversion of turns was useless, there was a use for it on day 1.
But going back to the topic it is concerning that there are people out there with no knowledge of how assassins work. I usually just 'educate' them with 1 hit and a polite message and on the whole most are thankful. Funny thing about this game. You can wipe 10% of someones def units and you get thanked yet if you legitmately hit (not snipering, not farming) for a tiny 10 trillion from someone who sees a quadrillion or 2 a day then you get a massing on both servers. Be careful where you swim, cue theme from Jaws...

yeh lack of turns whilst on a farming run may be annoying but more turns wont make ascended better

@Insider - good point, a totally new account finds the trading useful. Very technical point, but worth a good laugh, if you don't mind me saying so.

Reminds me of being totally new, small, and confused on ascended. Fun days..

@ Tacet - "@Lore - yep, and to put enough units into assassination to make it not worthwhile will take too much planets, you will effectively have an army with defence and assassins, but without any income. And someone will take up the challenge of breaking it down."
My account is like that
rank <100 defense, rank <100 assassin, but i get 8,xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx, maybe that's low

probably, but i am happy with it

the best strategy is te use ALERT so when u know that u ll be off for more then 10 hrs go in crit so u wont get farmed.
when yr army is small the best is to buy vcov lvl so common farmers wont see u and be sure u r not leaving much out , buy char/fleets till u rise to 2b army then def/assa

Covert isn't that helpful ..... farmers who don't see the dmu after they've trained a few bil planets into spies they will just do a 1 turn attack .... if your defense isn't too big for their strike they will recon to see if they can assassinate your defense and if you have enough dmu out to be worth it.

im talking bout common farmers , not snipers or others.
personally i can say, if smone DM you just for a normal DMU hit then mass him bck, main and ascended. just be carefull of how much dmu are u leaving out while u r off.

I agree with Lithium. I often even untrain my resource planets when I'm going to be away for extended periods.

not a bad call. Myself I usually hit back for x3 what is stolen from me. If they hit again I do it again and send them a polite warning

How is it that you can hit back for 3 times what they take when they have no income themselves?

some ppl dont bank every time they attack and just leave the dmu out in the open until they have tons to spend
i do that
but as i only get a few hundred bill dmu a day it never makes me a target

Real snipers do not train income planets, angrykid.
That helps.
