Hate to break it to you, but the Goa'uld don't have awesome tech seeing as they never invented any tech on their own but rather scavenged from the tech left by ancient races.

This statement is not totally true. The Goauld do not simply cut and paste. They have adapted many technologies for there benefit, and even added markers into technology for others not to use similar to the pegasus ancients

Remember, they built the pyramids!, made so much earth mythology. Even help seed the universe with life (slaves).

All you see is a race that likes to enslave others, but do not see the benefits that the Goauld have given to mankind. True, Baal, Anubis, Apophis etc where out for themselves, but may forget what Ra did. He was one of the most honorable Goaulds there has been. The film pictured him bad, however, more you read into the "hidden" world of the Goauld, then you come to see that Ra was , if not the greatest SL ever. Those humans who where in his service where well looked after and it was not unknown for Ra to give gifts to his loyal followers.
