Just finished watching the complete series and Serenity again.. The writing, characters.. story is just incredible. Its sad shows like get canceled, while Greys Anatomy and the like can flourish. -_-

Agreed, Jayne was full of great quotes, all the characters were and the whole series was excelent and deserved to get the full 3 series I heard they planned to tell the story over

I'd be happy with a Serenity sequel.. but it seems like that rumor is finally dead. But I still hold out hope!

I think rumors of a Firefly sequel finally died when they made the Serenity movie instead, they tried to cram 2 series worth of story into 90mins. Never heard anything about a movie sequel, with the main story already told they would have to come up with a new plot.

I loved the Serenity movie.

I did like how Serenity turns up on BSG though - just dropping off some supplies to Caprica before the Cylons arrive

I do not mean to necro an old thread, but I loved this movie. I just have one question.

Are the movie and series supposed to be linked? If so, how did River Tam get back into the care of the 'Alliance'?

Serenity the movie takes place after Firefly the series. The recordings of River in the Alliance lab were months/years old. They were the recordings of Simon originally breaking her out before he hid her onboard Firefly. It was mostly back story so the film could work as a stand alone film without people having to know the series.

Yes, but the question is - wasn't the ship that picked the girl up the Firefly ship? Or am I mistaken? I could understand if it was the 'rebel' guys mentioned but it seems a bit..off considering the reaction to the girl.
