Ah, now that is very true. But whenever someone complains or whines, there are bound to be those who choose to mock that person. Of course, its never right, but its to be expected.

I find the fact the very people making this forum unpleasant for newcomers now say "you should get involved with the community more" humorous, to put it mildly heh. Funny bunch.
I mean, it`s not as if newcommers get their behinds served to them to general amusement of the old guard every once and a while so they pritty much have a reason to keep their heads as low as they`ll go and that that is very common knowledge, is it eh heh? Riiiight...

I believe I was the one who initially told him to get more involved in the community, and guess what? I've never once harassed a newbie.

Look, its just a part of life, people get harrassed or made fun of, you just have to learn to deal with it and move on, keep your head high. Its not that big a deal if you don't let it become a big deal, you just have to learn to live with it.

Whenever someone whines, there's bound to be people ready to pick on him, sure its mean, sure its unfair, but honestly, theres no point in whining about something. Whining doesn't solve problems, talking about them may make you feel better about them, but in the long run, action speaks louder than words. If the guy doesn't want people picking on him, two solutions, don't whine, or snap back, don't roll over and die, otherwise you'll face a lifetime of people just walking all over you and next thing you know, you become the next postal worker to go nuts and kill a bunch of people. Its mean, but its tough love.

its a fair response to a random massing to be a little pissed off but I mean that really is to be expected in a game that one of the main facets is war not that that is the only thing in the game but it is a rather large factor

now everyone wants people to be more active on the forums which would incidentally prevent people from being ignorant as to the going ons of the game I mean really you cant just play the game and not expect strange things to happen to you, but in order to have more people ya should be slightly more open to other people coming on here I mean if the response this kid got was what I had received when I first came on here I prolly wouldnt have come back at least not for a little while.

Of course coming on here and complaining is not really the best way to get some attention and camradrie with the other players but if the new forum users didnt just come on here to gripe over "unfair" things then they may be more accepted by the community

Yes but most people say just fight back, mass them back instead of throwing crap on the forums, but the problem is in situations like this they may not have the opportunity to fight/mass back because they may have lost a whole chunk of their army in the unexpected massing. So they don't have the resources to even fight back after that then all they have left is to rant about it.

People say and do things that make situations worse when they are heated, but let them calm down and rebuild and they may fight back and actually make some friends around here, but hows that gonna happen when everyone else wants to jump on the bandwagon and mass him all because he went on a little rant.

Anyone, including you, presumes much with such "pearls of wisdome".

You may never have massed a newb but you prolly loled with your empire mates & co. enough times, or simply looked away as 99% of the community, when everyone was loling. Doesnt really matter for the guy now does it, your trac record.
Simple fact is this place is newcomer unfriendly for the vast majority of time. And when one who "got served" ingame lets out his steam here for the first time and gets served back the spin of the situation that it was somehow "his fault" (for not being mazohist enough to make himself known here?)...
I call that cynicism with little competition for the top spot in its category around here.

Dispense some of those pearly whites when it counts. And honestly, it wasnt aimed so much at you as to the perpetual "sing-along brigade" that lols at them one day, applauds profounds thoughts about how people should integrate more into the community and will lol at a newb for sticking his head out of his shell 2morrow. Its one of thoge magic circles lol...
Smart people figured out long ago, this forum aint where SGW experience is enhanced for the common folk. It`s where it`s potentionaly ruined.
Even I figured out by now that I`m having a heck of a lot better time since only being a partial guest here lol.
