Re: Do you smoke?

If you disscussing the companies its a whole different matter, I wrote a piece once on how smokeing is impossible to ban, Within the UK anyway, Because there are MP's, in almost every poltical party in the country, who sit as Executives, cheif executives, etc, on the boards of companies who control, or have controlling stakes, in almost every cigarette brand that is UK based.

And they make a bomb out of the Tax's from it. On top of that.

I assume its the same in most other western countries? Im not sure how it is in eastern countries however, but id assume its all money makeing notheless.

What? Mate, in my experience, almost everyone is a terrible driver. And more often than not, as unfortunate as it is someone OTHER than said driver that dies. And as such everyone who uses the road is included in the statistics. Hell, on my way in to work today, and this is ONLY today. I saw 3 people blatantly cut others off, within 30 seconds of each other (2 of them didn't indicate). I then later had someone cut me off without indicating, I had a taxi try to merge INTO me, then give me a shocked look when I blasted my horn at the idiot. I had a guy run a red light. Another guy nearly hit TWO cars at once. And the kicker? A drunk driver nearly rolled his car into mine after he hit a medium strip. (I locked up to avoid him and his car managed to just stay upright and he kept driving) Not to mention all the people who speed.

All in the 45 min drive to work this morning. Yet, not one person was even injured. I guarantee you at least 1 person in the general area died of smoking in those 45mins.

*edit* By the way, just so you don't twist it whether intentionally or not. Point is, that was a bad drive in. And so if no one is hurt on a day like that, then the chances are even lower on your average day.

of all the ppl who said they didn't smoke please post your age and also post how old you have to be to purchase any tobacco products where ever you live.

Im 19, and the age to buy is 18.

Legal age doesnt really have much to do with it I find. Such as with alcohol. Sure smokes are probably harder to get underage than alcohol, but that doesnt mean you cant get them.

Also, quick question. which causes more health problems? Smoking or chewing?

idk tbh i prefer chewing for the simple fact i can drink water if i get thirsty and that im not affecting my breathing for the physical work of roofing and doing electric. my co workers have to take a smoke break and that slows down the shingling. so i pop some chew in and keep it in till im done shingling. i had to quit smoking from the fact of my lungs being built as a wrestler and gettin soul edit out on as i tried to run a mile with a cig in my mouth. i have to say though both are very disgusting habbits.

now underage shoot i was buying cigs and booze off ppl since i was 14. i always gave the cigs to my dad and kept the booze for the campout later that night hehe. i ask cuz ppl who say they dont smoke are usually younger and this topic could get some turds to go out and try it for rreal and i would see more ppl that bit the dust. i asked for the legal age also because two years under was when most of my friends tried out and got hooked on nicotine wether smokin, chewing, or even snuffing it, just to get by with their work. i believe thats where most addictions occur. with a stressful stimulus.

but when i had the bloodclots that nearly took my life over the summer they explained that burning tobacco releases a more serious clotting agent then just having nicotine in the first place. all my doctors asked if i smoked and didnt seem to care that i chewed so this may be something in mind to look back at if there is anything more controversial.

this topic just has my attention because i havent seen anything from different countries other than the US and Canada about nicotine use. I also got harchester to try dipping and he found the only can they sell in scottland and it was coppenhaggen lol.

a couple posts i explained pretty much very accurate inside information as my old bus driver was a plantation owner he explained all bout the industry and also leaked out governments purpose in still allowing it to be sold. i can buy a cartoon of marlboro reds for 17.99 before taxes. after taxes its about 29.99 or higher in most states. in indiana it is 125% cig tax.
so the government is getting a hefty penny over the About 22% of men and 17% of women were smokers. most smoke 1-2 packs of cigs a day so do the math the us government is coming out on top with the taxing of that which is why mar ju wanna should also be sold by the government. just think how fast the US national debt will go down if everyone buys an eighth every 5 days. and medical mari is the best mari out there hehe

Re: Do you smoke?

Smoke if you want to your just get cancer. The Gov. won't make cigarettes illegal cause of the almighty dollar. But why would use smoke something that has these ingredients:

Ammonia: Household cleaner
Angelica root extract: Known to cause cancer in animals
Arsenic: Used in rat poisons
Benzene: Used in making dyes, synthetic rubber
Butane: Gas; used in lighter fluid
Carbon monoxide: Poisonous gas
Cadmium: Used in batteries
Cyanide: Deadly poison
DDT: A banned insecticide
Ethyl Furoate: Causes liver damage in animals
Lead: Poisonous in high doses
Formaldehiyde: Used to preserve dead specimens
Methoprene: Insecticide
Megastigmatrienone: Chemical naturally found in grapefruit juice
Maltitol: Sweetener for diabetics
Napthalene: Ingredient in mothballs
Methyl isocyanate: Its accidental release killed 2000 people in Bhopal, India in 1984
Polonium: Cancer-causing radioactive element
Not to mention you can get cancer. So go ahead its your life live it the way you want to.

lol i know ppl who got cancer from breathing in radon gas,did not smoke, and died but their relatives who lived with them never got cancer yet they smoked 2-3 packs a day. explain this one?

another reason why this topic is so controversial. can you list whats found in car exhaust that you breath in when in town or whats in the air at a hospital? possibly the air of a plasterboard factory? this will be interesting in my book because all these places there have been more cancer victims in each one than ppl who smoke.
Vendetta wrote:I think you will find that a MUCH higher percentage of people that smoke, die from smoking, than those that take the highway everyday die from crashing. Infact, there are much less crashes on highways than around intersections, kinda hard to crash when your only going straight TBH  Not to mention not all crashes end in death or even injury. I was in a car that rolled..a long way :P and me and my mate didnt have a scratch. Lucky yes, but point is that even bad crashes dont always kill.

And people dont smoke at a "controlled rate" at least not many if any. If you smoke you smoke, I doubt people tend to plan a smoking scedule.

Finally I dont believe it is the companies fault, they are only making money with a method the government allows. if anything the fault is shared between the govrnment and those who choose to do it. Although more so on the government in the cases of kids thinking thier invincible etc etc and not realising till later in life. Which i think was mentioned previously.

how does someone actually die from smoking lol. i wanna know cuz i tried holding my breath i tried falling asleep and i also tried coughing while inhaling and i did not die from smoking. i think some wording should be changed. you don't DIE from smoking you allow the risks for major health problems and tissue death by smoking a cigarette but ive never actually heard someone dying from smoking a cig unless they fell asleep and caught their clothes on fire and there's not too many cases of that to match the deaths in traffic accidents

Your an idiot. Firstly, just to play your crappy game. Ever heard of fatal fires that were started by a cicarette that wasnt put out properly?

Secondly, by "dieing from smoking" I mean from an issue directly related to smoking that they otherwise wouldnt have had. Such as lung cancer. If they also sucked on fly spray, then perhaps it would be iffy which they died of. But by being unable to realise this and jumping straight to the litteral sence you have proven yorself to me as an idiot and as such from now on I shall treat you that way. Good day.

call me what you want but you can get lung cancer from anything that has a basic compound. example when you changed your brakes on your car if the model was older than 1995 the instructions clearly state do not use air to spray off brakes unless proper masking and eye shielding is practiced due to the fact that all brake pads and shoes before then were made of some asbestos materials. also if you have a cracked foundation in your basement you may be susceptible to radon gas exposure which will cause more than just long cancer.

now one not being put out properly there has to be some conditions. Cloth and very very very dry brush are the only things i have seen that would char if one was not put out right. never actually seen a fire start from a cig. not even on gasoline. hollywood has made that a reality but ive tried it and never got it to happen. all im repeating to you is personal knowledge and what my agriculture teacher demonstrated to me. if you dont believe that take a match and a five gallon jug of gas. light the match and throw it in the opening as fast as possible. the match will go out. this was an experiment in my mechanics class and welding tech class i took my sophmore year in highschool.

i dont play games

Re: Do you smoke?

that works because of the small opening no air no fire the can is saturated to much gas to burn you need a mixture of gas and air.

now i agree smoking won't kill you just increase your chance of dying just as driving without brakes won't kill you just raise the chances of crashing.

but to get back to the question i smoke the odd cigair maybye 4 or 5 a year but i love the smell and the taste just not the side effects.

Sure anything can "give you cancer" and ill effects... but smoking has a LARGER chance to effect you... so think about it that way :?

Re: Do you smoke?

i agree but even then if you were a one a day smoker instead of a pack a day the cange would be bearly noticeably but when you smoke a pack or two a day then it's like getting sunburnt every weekend chances are better that something bad happens than it doesn't

Firstly, your not getting what im saying...at all. secondly, it's the gas FUMES that ignite, not the acctual liquid. Yes your right, put a match into it and it will go out. hold it next to it and the fumes will ignite. Also I have personaly seen a fire light from a cigarette. And yes, it was accidental. (we got it out cause we noticed it when it was still small).

A fire can light from a tiny ember or even spark mate. And yes, you can get cancers from various things, but dont you think it's a bit coincidental that those who smoke seem to get it alot more than those who dont? They must be changing alot of pre 1995 break pads

Re: Do you smoke?

alot of plasterboard factory workers have died since they were layed off, from mesothelioma which was caused by direct exposure to asbestos. two weeks ago when i replaced a garage cieling with spray in insulation that was pure asbestos and we got shut down by osha till we had full gas and body suits to work with. but from what i understand also if you smoked for a long periods of years then just up and quit your are something between 10-20 more susceptible to getting cancer then if you just smoked until the day you die. the only fire i knew to be started by a cig was one that got blown back in a car window and the only reason that was cuz the back seat was ripped and torn and it got the cushion. made of a cardboard wool material. im just soul edit out with everybody on this. i dont smoke but i used to and i see that i am doing better now than while i was but still when i rolled my own i could smoke 5 run a mile in 6 minutes flat and smoke another and be fine. the cigs you buy in packs are made to kill you(its the additives) and to cause cancer so the us government can collect your social security. if you havent noticed either hehe the new cigs have a dif paper that if you dont hit within 45 seconds or so the cig goes out. idk im more scared of radon gas possibly coming up from my basement than the guy sittin next to me at the bar with a cigar in his mouth. and soul edit out ohio laws. you cant smoke on your on front porch, in a house containing more than 3 residents, or in your car with the window down. its ridiculous. thank god i live in indiana where all us hilljacks do is chew bacca, make military edition pipe and chemical bombs, and bow hunt for 3 months straight. thats the life that thrills me.
