We had cablevision and now have Fios.
The orriginal result was faster in general, but the only thing that seems to have slown down is SGW Main. And i have tried others computers, and even other ISP's.
And on your disclaimer, its a mutual feeling we have then

Looks like my ideas didn't work lol. I'd try changing some ingame things then, and handling messages outside of SGW. This forum's PM system works fine.

It's game related, most likely numbre of processed per second. and only really kicks in during peak times.
As for un important accounts, i means those accounts that haven't been logged in 3 years, that have the current emails deleted, or passwords forgot, people move on, it happen.
As for how to do it's been previously documented in the suggestion thread. What i'm tryin to do here is identify that there is infact a problem, since my highspeed connection has no problems dealing with 300 open tabs, and 75 attacks per min in Q. But than it's got alot less server load.

and maybe if admin finally moves away from MySQL onto a more robust database it'd actually work! sure there are extra costs with licenses, but the simple fact is MySQL doesn't support the possible number of connections needed if there is a sudden flood on the server.

It's horrible when trying to mass or raid, when i do 1 hit it usually takes 10-20 seconds loading, i believe this is because of the LOADS of account in the game maybe deleting the inactive ones as Apophis suggest in his thread.
This needs to be fixed like yesterday.

The server load times are shocking atm,
Took me over 5 mins for the command center to load after i hit login,
Next Turn: 22 min
Time to Load Page inbox.php at 11:43 : 35.278521 seconds
I went to raid someone and it took that long i gave up and logged out, as it is, the game is unplayable.

430 players on...this server used to have twice that every day...there's something wrong.
Probably combination of origins/BC in same server as main/ascended/quantum, ME ranks, and some other things..

But if Origins and Ascended are on the same server why are they not affected, ascended is flying, and i have had 0 lag in Origins either when i play it.

When I farm in turn change in origins/ascended I have no lag either...
Trying to figure out from when this lag comes from..if not different games or inactive accounts...it's ranked ME perhaps? As there used to be more active people but less lag.

The server should be more the capable than handling that though, i dont think its M.E its gotta be something different, id hate to think what would happen if 1000 people where logged in.
Its a shame Jason doesnt get onto the forums more to see these threads as something isnt ticking correctly over at SGW HQ

Could it be the massive size of some of the accounts?
And the reason i say this is that as something gets bigger on a computer, it normally takes more memory and time to respond to it.
Like the larger the HD, the more time it takes to search through it. The more data there is from larger accounts,(and inactive) the more lag?

If that was the case then ascended would be effected more then main, as accounts are bigger.
IDK what games are on what server , but I agree with others that ascended, origins, and all other games I play DO NOT experiance the lag main does.
I think it is sheer number of calcs, its got to be. Its not the amount of players as it has been far higher in the past. Things like ME and such have to be a major contributer as for me this lag you all are experiancing now came about with the ME update. Its been like this for me every since then.
Admin knows about it, and told me hes looking at it but doesnt see anything wrong? IDK
I say atleast try something
Try deleting the truely "worthless" inactive accounts.
Try making all the useless information such as ME update every 8, 12, or 24 hrs instead of every turn.
Try limiting or cutting back the messages in limit and time kept, and the alliance attack logs, maybe back to 12 hrs?

I dont see how M.E can affect it though as its only calc like 1000 people per turn, the server should beable to easily handle that, the server monitor software have got to show admin that the game is lagging hard, and the server is under stress,
For me this all started when he said the pages are now compressed for faster load times.

if i get time i'll ask admin about it, when i can. But please people keep reporting till the problems fixed, it's not like this topic can't become 300 pages log. That might be the paper worked need to get the ball rolling.

Now that you put it that way, I guess I see what's happening in this thread. I apologize for my previous ignorance-inspired posts.
