A few names spring to mind:

Rockhard: My first CO, who taught me the basics and showed me what a good alliance was when he recruited me into TÅTS.

Traprunner: Showed me how to be a good trader, how to be a good fighter and inspired me to try and become a good leader.

All of TÅF: Proved to me that the game is about more than just numbers. Its about the friends you make along the way.

Well after conducting a mental catalog of my entire history, one person sticks out
JediMasterX that taught me how to sab. He was also gave me a few pointers in terms of massing. All that was during the First Great War that involved Omega/DDE and Crystal Force. Before that, I had never massed, only really knew the basics based on what I figured out on game mechanics, peoples descriptions, and Esker.

Esker
For the most part, he was source of information on the on goings of early SGW politics (behind the scenes sort of stuff). He also gave me the first real pointers in terms of massing. At the time, he wanted me to mass Elusive ( I forget why), but he called it off before I could get the strike built. Also during my time with him I learned how to be a decent CO and basic workings within an alliance.

Bad Wolf
He taught me much of how the politics in SGW worked after Esker left. More or less, taught me to take more chances on SGW, mostly in terms of fighting wars with the BWE.

Don't think he plays anymore, but Anubisstargate helped me out alot back in the day. Taught me so much about ascending when I knew nothing.
