My problem with attack fatigue is yes without it you can run through an entire alliance of people providing you have
1 - The turns to do it
2 - The units, losses for massing are crazy without fatigue

Scrapping defence fatigue means you can mass and defence continue to lose units as your attack weakens, when defence fatigue is 50/50 the defending army take 0 losses, which means the attack is solely relying on destroying weapons.

Which would be where you say bring in a sabbing friend?

Like Gary said, make it like 50% as effective, so perhaps 1/2 losses, instead of 0 losses? I just see removing attack fatigue as enabling snipers even more so.

It isn't main, a sniper would first need to build up an attack force big enough to mass one person, I think there are only 3 or 4 accounts capable of massing several people with ease and they're all over 300k army size. Most active players have 100k defence units. Massing that takes at least 90k strike units.

It's not like snipers can be favoured on this server. Plus farming as I've said time and time again is so unprofitable because you need to be hitting for 250mil + naq which is what? Two weeks natural income, the only people worth farming are inactive.

The sniper style currently is NOT supported I totally agree.

Removing attack fatigue means that, whilst they can't completely mass several people due to defence fatigue, they can greatly wound many people without any reduction in their strike power as long as they repair and retrain. If you hit non-actives then no, if you are hitting actives perhaps. However, 17/30 meet your criteria in the top 30... or 8 in the top 10.

You guys need to be careful with this, if 1 group is able to funnel funds into a few MS accounts they can potentially suppress all other MS that they find as a threat.

which is why making MS destroyable keeps MS power in check...unless you want others to gang up on your uber MS account ;)

Edit:

if Origins is going to succeed, it needs unique features so those wanting those features will need to play Origins instead of expecting them to cross over to Main and Quantum.

I'm hoping to squeeze this patch into one of my weekends because during the work week all of my time is being spent on getting this other project ready to beta. Unfortunately the best case will probably have the test sever updated near the end of this month, assuming that the rest of the other project goes smoothly.

To prevent the abuse of MS tech. MS will have a 'power core' that produces 100 units of power. By default each MS will come with balanced stats that max out the core. If you want to make your MS have more attack power it will cost you it's defence. Likewise to increase defence you will have to sacrifice attack. You will be able to reconfigure you ship once every 24 hours, and reconfiguring your MS will cost a considerable amount of naq.

I have to agree. If we assume we have 50pts in defence, and 50pts in attack, then you should be having some sort of scale.

Example:
To upgrade something from 0pts - 50pts is 1pts each
From 50 - 65, is 2pts each
From 65 - 75, 3pts each
From 75 - 85, 4pts each
From 85 - 100, 6pts each

Now obviously we can't get to 100 points in one area, and infact the maximum you can have would be 0 - 72 (atk and def). But some similar scale, otherwise as Dmonix said, either super shielded MSs will appear or super weaponed ones.


[KMA]Avenger: I actually approve of that ratio. Why shouldn't someone that has 860x larger force then you, inflict more damage, especially when their the defender, its their home world, and thus the "home field advantage"?
If anything, the defence should have taken 0 losses. Since they vastly outnumber your forces

Then I guess it is broken.

So, I propose, if you have such a low strike force compared with the defending force, you should loose a proportion equal to the amount under.

Such that, if the defender is 2x strong then the attacker, they attacker takes 2x the losses compared to normal. If the defender is 10x, 4x the losses, and if 100x, 8x the losses

I had thought about a tech to increase the size of the Ms's power core but if it's based on the same tech point system your first ms would be relatively cheap to power up, and the 5th ms would be hugely expensive. Perhaps when you buy a MS you can chose from different power cores, each far more expensive then the last?
