The tiger thing is a slightly surreal yet utterly untrue rumour that someone on Twitter started.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -town.html

They took the picture from that article, and distributed it as though they'd just taken it themselves.

Wasn't this how the whole thing started? ;)

For those who want the riot horses to charge in - all I say is remember Peterloo. Things could get a LOT worse if the police go in heavy-handed.

I have been a Conservative my entire life, but the behaviour of the government this evening has been absolutely disgraceful. No visibility whatsoever from our so-called leaders. Cameron is 'flying back soon' apparently. He should have been here yesterday. As soon as this started, he should have been back here on the fastest military plane available. He should be doing what we elected him for right now - leading.

Boris is just as bad. He's on his way back, allegedly, but won't be here until tomorrow afternoon. Where was he holidaying? The moon? I voted for both of them, and I feel thoroughly let down.

I was wondering where they were, too. I agree with you, too; Cameron should be there doing his damn job.

so the prime minister should have scheduled his holiday around these planned riots... :smt017

everyone needs a break, and hes under the most pressure, keeping our country going, i dont think its fair to judge him on this.

I think it's absolutely fair. This is the point of a Prime Minister - to lead in times of crisis, to be there. I'm not suggesting he should have predicted the riots, no - but he should have been back as soon as they started. You don't continue your 'break' when the country you purport to lead is going up in flames.

did i hear that the home secretary came back early from there holiday ? , and id guess this was the only chance he'd get for a holiday (as weak as this sounds to me aswell...) but he will need a break and times of crisis can happen daily on a country scale

My thoughts go out to anyone who has/is being affected by the riots in london. Shocking to hear it is now spreading to other cities and escalating further in London :(
Hope you are all staying safe :)
