Game needs, or needed a long time ago, a real cap. It is way too easy to get resources since accounts can grow and grow forever and ever...

This game has long been much more about relations between the people playing it than pure gameplay.
Limiting said relations with game mechanic would be a shot in its own foot, as good as an idea it may at first seem.
This game is still going "strong" due to characters and adversities that have formed over the years. Introduce resource scarcity and a "u loose" scenario and you're doing the game a giant disservice at this stage imho.
That is asuming people don't simply circumvent the mechanic in some way, like the alliance war system.
Sure these year long wars might feel tedious but if resources were hard to get so that people cant rebuild (what of the cash spenders in such a scenario btw?) and you get auto declared result when you still got fight in you would prolly turn main into the ascended of old once one giant (super)alliance threw up a bunch of fat defs and had fighters sit on the opposition. There isnt a coalition like that nowadays you say? Well you can be damn sure it'd (re)form quite fast heh.
Now THAT was a game not appearing to be dead, but quite dead lol. xept for mojo rising nobody gave a flip.
