So what changed? I mean Icebreaker was reported well over a year ago and yet only now something is done.

When people first started talking about Ice some even decided to start scripting themselves e.g. nanobite. In his leaving thread he sed he even told admin that he was using scripts yet hes back now and actively playing again, the reason for this is as many have posted above is, oh admin didn't do anything to Ice he wont treat me any different god knows how many scripters are playing now and how many more will start to play...

Not necessarily the case. People will risk losing things from their accounts like Ice did. Ok it's not much of a punishment, but don't act as if adminJ did nothing to Ice.

Plus, if this is the first instance that adminJ has seen someone doing exactly whatever Ice was doing, then adminJ should make a decision now to label it as cheating and anyone caught using this method from this point onwards will be dealt with as a cheater.

Of course they should. Mechanisation should never have been allowed to begin with. Point of the matter is proving people use things like that. From a cheater's point of view Ice slipped up, giving admin the evidence he needed to prosecute. Ah well.

Yes, do erase alliances who use illegitimate means to compete.

What are you talking about? Alliances refreshing alliance logs to see if they get attacked? That is hardly the same, that actually requires an alliance command position online to go and repair the defence weps when they are getting massed

Quite disappointed of course, but after an investigation within my own alliance forums, seems people who were once in our alliance(s) also used scripts. As much as I am against the use of scripts, they will always be used. Most people dont actually read the ToS when they filled out the registration, so some who play other games might think its ok, maybe though since they got away with it there, they might do the same here. You cannot stop it completely.

Also, the fact Ice, came out and apologized and putting up with all the crap in this thread shows you and that he acknowledged he did something wrong. It may have taken being reported a few times, it was still done. If he changes great, if he doesnt, we all know who he is.

Please do tell what makes you think icebreaker used auto refresh? How would that even benefit farming?

Because refreshing the page adds an extra unneeded instant.

These are basic things about farming Eare. Everytime you refresh a page you risk lag. Now, a little common sense would tell anyone that if a guy is emptying out farms in a second, he's not going to risk lag.

I did because it doesn't help. You don't want to refresh that page when farming 'cept about 1 minute into the turn because at about that time you risk getting 0 hits if you don't refresh.

None of you know what Icebreaker was using. adminJ says it's in a "grey" zone, yet all you know-it alls claim it is cheating, yet you don't know what it actually is.

It's called using common sense.

Whatever he used was an unfair advantage outside of the game's framework.

Attacking me won't get your point across, especially when you have no point.

A few people quit because, and if you knew anything about farming well rudy, it was practically impossible to farm and keep up with the $$ spenders.

The few days Icebreaker was banned, I was farming 6-9T per TC. I know someone who was doing a bit higher.

When Icebreaker was using his "tool", I was farming 2-4T per TC. I happen to have one of the best low strike high income farm lists in the game atm. Other people were getting 500b-1T. To farm when Icebreaker wasn't around, was a time that most people were asleep during.

Don't talk about something you have no clue about. Build a proper farm list, go farming, let me know how it goes. Then take away 75% of what you farm on average per TC, and you get over a year of farming when Ice was around. The farms were being wiped within 1 second of a TC.

It's not that people didn't try to farm, it's that it was virtually impossible to do so and stay even remotely in range of the spenders.
