Well no, it's fairly obvious the topic is intended to ask players what they believe in the context of the overall game and it's history they believe to be the best of the best, as in an alliance that held a significant amount of weight in the actual points of the game (not holding hands and posting spam ima). Its only broad if you're trying to find a reason to shoe horn an alliance that's not Omega, TDD, TL, DD or EPA into your answer.

Otherwise it's an absolutely pointless question from the off as you'd be likely 99% certain to get one person from at least every alliance to say theirs for reason A, B or C that they can trump up (assuming they were available). Mine was good at talking, mine was diplomatic, mine took names, mine had the best sigs, mine threw the best summer BBQ's...

Objectivity SS... objectivity, refinement and relevance. If it was the best at being a community i'm sure everyone would chuck out most alliances they've ever enjoyed. On the other hand Omega is the only alliance to have gone undefeated and undisbanded from 2005 to present as far as I know (for example).

Never posted here a real answer. There have been many storied alliances in this game that have made it what it is today, most which are no longer around. Alliances like The Order of Chaos, Dirty Dozen, Crystal Force, Unnatural Selection, Archangels, UTA, The Order, EPA, TPP and so many more. Pacts, betrayals, wars, epic long drawn out conflicts all meant to decide the fate and soul of the game. No alliance has been apart of every conflict, though you can say four still-standing have been involved in the vast majority: TAF, TL, DDE and OE. TAF, DDE and OE all descend from 2005 but all four have guided this game to where it is today both in the foreground and behind the scenes.

My personal bias would say TAF has had the most storied history, at least I'd say it has the most fascinating history of rebirth and revival, but our greatest victories are to an extent bookends on the main story of the game. I've said before in threads similar to this that ETL was the greatest player in the history of the game for the sheer scale of what he has accomplished in all forms of the game. I prefaced that with saying I also believe he has done more harm than most out there. The same can be said for Omega as a whole. No alliance has been on top more or accomplished greater things for better or worse for the rest of the game. Every game needs its villain and Omega has played it very well for many years.

Someday when this game finally ends, us old timers from each of the major alliances should get together and try to recount everything we remember and everything that was really going on. If we were so inclined, we could turn the actions of this game into an incredible science fiction novel. One that would easily rival the complexity of Game of Thrones or other similar political intrigue stories.

Whilst I agree that the political associations throughout this game's history are varied and exciting, there are many things that are difficult to represent visually (even just to be described in a novel). For example, each player's "realm", what does it truly consist of in order for a story to make sense. Are we to believe each player is the ruler of an entire solar system, with motherships and planets that move around, and each of those solar systems can only support 600 million population, how/why? And farming is the act of stealing resources from other players/systems by means of force, yet these are an instantaneous battles, which can be done many times in a minute. That is impossible to achieve in a real-world (even sci-fi real world) environment.

I like the idea, but there is a lot to answer and adapt in order for it to fit. It would have to be stripped down and fundamentally changed, yet the story of the alliances etc could potentially work.

We can view each ruler as ruler of a solar system. Galaxy alone has billions of em. Alliances of star systems fighting eachother isn't outside the realm of possibility. Think Galactic Republic vs Dooku's whatever in those Star Wars Prequels except...you know...actually good.

The politics of history are what would make the story, the stories of fighting and war. You could trap the stories in whatever surroundings you'd like. Gods, warlocks, vampires, kings/rulers of a realm. Take your pick.

Also, don't The Legion trace their history to Death Before Dishonor? I seem to recall they're made by the same person and comprised of the same names originally.
