The name colors are a distinction of hierarchy on the forum. It allows new members the convenience of noticing who is on Staff and who is a regular user. There are not enough colors to give to each user, and too many of those colors are too similar to those of the Staff that nothing but confusion could come from it.

There is currently no benefit, but a definite deficit, to allowing regular users to have their own colors. "Lightening the place up" isn't worth the confusion issuing personal colors to users would create.

just what like the ban colour does? Just make a new colour for a section who want change, like the colour Z has, we all know he sits around and does **Filtered** all apart from playing with jason, what issue do you think this is creating that the fact being that its not fair

He has actually been inactive for a bit now, and I am waiting on a reply from Jason as to modding placement, and requested that custom colours be removed, leaving only those who are mods with colours.

if he removes it, then this can be closed, if he doesnt, then this will continue :)

being fair is the key here, which makes everybodys forum visits much more enjoyable. Maybe giving a few people nice colours will enhance a users joy while browsing the forums

I never said Z's special color/group was fair. Most of us are against the idea of it, but that is a can of worms that was kicked around by SS and Ear for months with no action on AdminJason's part. If you want to discuss Z's colors/group, I suggest you take it up with AdminJason here: ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=2

The Banned User color is only used to designate the group of users whom are on the Banned User List. That is very different than individual users each picking out their own special color.

So this whole thing boils down to Zeratul's personal color? You don't actually want to debate having a color of your own, you just want his removed?

You should really read up on some more stuff, since you clearly have no idea what the real issue is.

Ah I see, what's that like a shade darker? Annnd who cares? I didn't see any of you complaining about Dovahkiin black.

Good point. Can I get the black too?

Yes you can.

Teach me the ways :O

I've kept quite read-up lately. Please enlighten me what is so important about the colors themselves? Aside of the past arguments and stuff with SS. What is so important about the color?

It's about zeratul's special treatment.

I thought that was pretty transparent from the start.

It was clear that the idea was sparked from Zeratul having his own special color, but it was not clear (to me) that this was more of a conditional color request and not an honest desire to have one's own name in a personalized color.

OK, I have just spoken with AdminJ, and he said that Z will have his colour removed, and will be placed in the Shreds of Admins group (past admin and all that).

Solved.

And the deleted Admins?

Is the color being removed or is his group along with all of his special permissions as well?

Zeratul not deserving shreds of admin. And getting a purple colour.
