mezz was a great guy and although we didn't talk very often he was always respectful and honest. he could also be a great laugh!
i always hoped i would meet some him along with some of the guys from fs.

i'm proud to say i got my ass handed to me several times by him but he was always good natured about it and would always congratulate you if you fought well :)
this is a great loss to the community. may you rest in peace mezz.

my condolences to his family and friends.

So it's finally settled in, and I'd like to write a proper goodbye to Mezz.

Nick, I met you when I had absolutely no idea who to go to in this game. You gave me a chance and taught me how to learn and grow in this game, but more importantly, you taught me how to take these random strangers on the internet and end up loving them like my own family.

Lord knows how much you covered for me when you became leader (and a great one at that) and I never once truly said thank you for that. When you showed faith in me after Coyle left, you taught me how to mature in this game, and during that time you and I talked a damn lot. I can't recall a single memory where my respect for you as a player, and more importantly as a human being, ever wavered. You treated everyone with a level of dignity, and that was a true mark of how good you were.

I was 16 when I joined FS and met you. I'm 20 now. You were one of the people who literally watched me grow, and helped me through it, and for that I thank you. I should have done so a long time ago, but I never thought anything like this could happen to you of all people.

Wayne, I can't even fathom what you're going through. The amount of stories you've told me about you and Nick, and what he meant to you, makes this a very very difficult time for you and just know that I'm always here for you, if you wanna talk. We haven't caught up in a while anyway, but I'll be on msn a bit for the next few days. I'm really sorry for your loss, and I hope you take care of yourself bud.

Mezz, once again, thank you for everything you've done for me, and for your second family, FS. We love you, and I'll always remember the good moments. You and brothers will always be an inspiration in my life.

Goodbye Nick
Rest in Peace

I don't know what to say. I never had the chance to get to know Mezz, never had a conversation with him, but I did have a deep respect for him. The community lost another great hero, my deepest condolences to his friends and family, both RL and ingame.

RIP Mezz.

Brothers mate, give him a super send off for all of us. We'll have to all do another meet soon in Nick's honor and have a drink to see him off.

Hang in there bud.

... and here I thought Mezz was done ascending.

R.I.P.

Just out of curiosity, is there an obituary somewhere online... and what was the cause of death. Not trying to be disrespectful, just curious.

This is truly shocking to read. I've always had great respect for Mezz, even though I hardly knew much about him at all. Ever since my first encounter with him on the forum, I could tell that he had strong convictions and a good heart. He held himself with integrity and put the problems of others ahead of himself. He was one of the few people I had truly hoped to get to know better, because he has always seemed like such a great person and friend.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to his friends and family. He blessed this community with his incredible presence, and it just won't be the same without him.

I only had the briefest of interactions with Mezz and they were all in Game, but this has still saddened me. That's a testament to his personality i guess.

That's no age to die, no age at all. My condolences to all close friends and family either here or in Mezz' life away from here.

RIP.
