you are right and avoid /zero issues, i set 1% the min :)
and yes the resource can triple from base ... (well triple -2%)

ex. 100% of 100 =100 therefore 100-100=0

So i would guess that what was meant was -50% ex. 100-50%=100-50=50

Also +200%=3x , if x is the base

this is because it is 200% + base

Anyway just though i'd point those things out.

P.S. I don't mean to insult anyone, just trying to help.

I'm really not sure that this will make a difference, the problem is that it's pretty hard to grow fast in this game without ATs so everybody wants them.

In particular you have two groups of players who buy them, the little guys and the REALLY BIG guys. When new turns are put on the market as happened this week everyone dives in and snaps them up (good for the little guys and good for the big guys). When the price starts to go up the little guys slowly get phased out based on their capacity and ability to buy them and instead sell their Market Turns to the big guys instead who can pretty much afford to buy them at any price based on their capacity to produce massive amounts of naq. Either way ATs will get bought out a whatever price they sell at.

and then the little guys can still grow, just through using naq

Or more realistically they can still grow, but by selling their turns for the huge amounts of naq, because all the big guys are still only buying them.

this is the way i assumed it worked but i guess i was wrong. free market is the only way that makes actual sense ^_^

The problem is that even if the price of ATs goes up in naq and down in UUs it's still going to be the big players who buy the most and ultimately ATs will run out whatever the case, no one sells ATs to the market because quite frankly you can make a lot more naq/UUs of ATs in game than you'll ever get from the market (it's not hard to turn 150 ATs into 10,000 UUs by raiding or 3bil naq by farming and the market is never going to match that rate).

One option might be to put an infinite amount of ATs on the market and place stronger limitations on how many can be purchased (though the last part might not be so popular)

Forum wrote:a few people have said this, but if 10 turns (1% of base 1000) traded for, say, 3billion (150% of base 2bil) you are seriously saying nobody would do it?

just like to restate that, so if as you say 150 AT should be 3bil I think people might sell their AT at 10 per 3bil, but of course it wont get like that, people will sell before that.

sounds good here. it will make it alot more interesting to watch the market.

As long as we're discussing this...

Why not just set up the market as a real one, where people put binding bids out to buy this for that, and then when someone offers "this" and demands "that" to the market he gets immediately in exchange the highest "that" anyone has offered. Since there are only 3 different things to be traded player to player (plus real cash, not sure if you want to include this in the market as well, making it binding would be a hassle even though omitting it distorts the market) this should be feasible.

Hmm admin, I didn't saw you answering the usefull question about when the rate would change, will it be live or every new turns it'll get updated?

And about the update, I think most people that are against it must be afraid of new stuff, maybe cause it might destroy the business the way they do it :) ( or maybe they're just afraid of new stuff :p)

New isn't always bad people, it's just different.

ps: I buy arround 10k AT a day from black market so i'm as afraid as one can be about what my realm's growth will be after the update, but still I'm open minded
pps: I agree tho that the update will slow the game, cuz roughly we'll go from people's AT income + 8 mil AT once in a while + the regular addy to ATs to people's AT income, which of course is lower lol :p

can't be bothered reading all of the thread but has anyone thought of haveing a different price for selling and buying rather than just one rate....

that way you could convince pplz to sell their turns and still have and expensive price for the turns to purchase?

lol as soon as i type this someone will find a flaw i bet you 1 trill naq...

I like it! Maybe up the naq to 2.3bil or something and it would be brilliant!

after calculating bout 10 economical trades with excel taking the current reserves and the total amount of resources previous being on market as 100%. i have to say it looks good so far. only objection will be the initial amount of lifers in reserve. this value might be increased beforehand to make the market more stable from the beginning.

if my calculations been right the market wont be as jumpy as many of you think. (in the beginning it may but after a few weeks it will regulate itself)

concerning the influx of new resources after the market has been started:
since this resource is the most used one in the game you can add a turnly influx BUT: this may not be changed afterwards and also take naq from the market at the same time- like setting up a ghost trade that trades every turn 10-20K AT for naq. this way the rates wont change drastically since you draw another resource from the market and you can let it flow without manipulating the market any further.

well as always, this wont be 100%perfect but i think it will be way better then before and it adds a new trading aspect to the game. MT will be worth more. and the big guys have to pay more to get them from the poor ones. (of course limiting the person trade abilities is what i would like to see added as well, but that should already get enough flaming..)

stons rant over :)
