Nelly Furtado is way better, as Rihanna is, for the most part, as she did few boring songs too.
Christina Milian and Ashanti are better too!

Nelly furtardo is timberlands wh0r3 tbh (notice how the ones without him featuring are considerably less popular/good - despite him producing most if not all of her album), although i liker her songs.

Christina Milian ok i supose, but she is pop more than R&B. Ashanti alright.

But the success shows who is the better artist.

and beyonce a dying queen? please, perhaps in your midn but not the millions of others who buy her records.

50 cent, britney spears, tokio hotel etc...have success, they sell millions of cds and appear on all radios and tvs, does it make them the best ones in their category? Far far from that!!!
It's not always the case fortunately, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Akon etc are selling or sold alot, and are/were very talented artists.

Technically it does.

If your the best you will sell the most, if your not the best people won't listen.

Best doesnt just mean pure talent btw. And talent =/= your the best.

But saying what you said about beyonce is slightly silly, she is still goin strong.

Why then do we hear often in critics "meh commercial stuff that's far from xyz's music who's the best even if what he/she does isn't recognized by majors, still it's a classic for the abcd style"??
If people listn to them its because propaganda (erm I meant promotion & publicity) mass all medias that they are the bests etc...while those who're recognized by thier talent couldn't be so popular, because it doesnt fit commercial lines!
Exceptions exist of course! (Michael Jackson, Akon, Madonna, Chris Brown, Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez...)

critics don't buy the albums.

and you cant go "oh there are exceptions <insert artists you like who fit all of the things you I was just criticising others about>"

If people listen them once, its because of proepganda SOMETIMES, its also cuse they've heard a song from said album/or heard the single and bought it.

If people listen to a song twice, again they are probably listening to it because they've only just discovered it and are assesing wether they like it or not.

but come the third time they are listening to it because they like it.

People listen to what they want people listen to, period!
Because they overdiffuse the songs they want to be lsitened, while at same time talented artists are enjoyed by those who knew where to listen ie not the 500% commercial radios.

just because someone WITH talent has been picked up by a record company that has money to publicse does NOT mean that said artist has no talent. In fact it means they haev MORE talent. 70% of the reason that people are unsigned is because they may ONLY be able to sing, they probably look crap or the same as everyone else out there and/or they can't perform or sing live.

And to be honest I can listen to some of Paris Hilton songs so if I can do it but can't to half of mainstream that shows how much it's a JOOOOOKE

Sometimes mainstream brings hot **Filtered**, like Diddy feat Christina Aguilera's "Tell Me", Timbaland feat Kerri Hilson's "The Way I are" or Jennifer Lopez's "Do it well"[brand NEW], not to mention Akon stuff...other examples not mentionned also!

I don't care if the singer has an amazing voice like mariah carey, it doesn't mean for me it's good, far from that! If the voice/song hurts my ears (not cause she/he cannot sing, but because of voice being wayyy too acute) or if the voice/song is BORING and SLEEPY like a lullaby, THEN, I dislike it!
So now I guess you get where my tastes on music come from and why!
