Who needs to sit on someone when they just delete when they try and fail at massing you?

A guy named Arrhenius started massing for whatever reason, when I noticed, I went crit, nox and declared neutral with him. This of course slowed him down, and so I started repairing. I IMed Bryan to get him to start sabbing, and within a few seconds, he had deleted.

I won't take Henseshi's example here, because it is a fine example of people who can't take being sabbed/massed while they made a stupid mistake themselves....
But there are enough people in-game who mass without a previous action was made by the other player, or such a action that didn't deserve the reaction that was given.... THAT is also a thing what can be called 'making deleting'.

we believe that sitting on someone till they delete is on the same level as getting someone in RL to commit suicide... and should be avoided at all cost...
the only exceptions are people that scam/hack/cheat...
those also deserving to be sat upon a little, but not enough to force deletion, are those who send wrong types of messages and those that are utterly disloyal/backstabbers...
that is more or less what we think...

By your own reasoning you are implying it would be ok to get a mass murderer to commit suicide. or a drug lord.. or anyone else that is really 'evil'.
i'm not against what you say, but if you start reasoning it is ok to take x course of action because someone else does the 'wrong' thing, then very rapidly you can start finding less offencive actions....
i say leave the admin to dealing with multis, unless they say otherwise. or at least stop using that as your excuse, because you will just degrade the game even more into massing-for-no-reason..

For the record, forcing someone to delete is something only to use as a final response. I support its use on scammers and cheats. Other cases only in extreme circumstances.
This seems to involve an issue of Rule of Law versus Rule of Man. Those who are saying it should never be used, because people abuse it, are pointing out that there are no laws of civilized warfare obeyed by all players. Those who say it is a valid thing to use in certain situations are mostly saying that it is an ingame method of removing those players who should no longer be here, and shouldn't be used anywhere else.
If the laws we obeyed included only using this as ingame response against scammers and cheaters, for instance, and if people obeyed the rules over obeying the strong players, this wouldn't be an issue. Please note the 'ifs' included.
Respect, trust, courtesy, all that's needed when dealing with the majority of players. The minority who are incapable of learning it can be ejected and the game will improve.

Personally, I think sitting on someone until they delete the ultimate show of power and should be used more often. It's a pity that people do not do this anymore. Where the hell is everyone's e-honor?

You could try, but you wouldn't get very far.

it seems that trying to make another player delete their account has crept into commonly used tactics.
ill sit on your account till u delete
something i saw today in a thread after very little provocation. is that acceptable? this is a game open to anybody who obeys the rules. if a player is following the rules of the game, is it really a fair, honorable or acceptable thing to be doing?
this isnt meant as a whine, or an attack on anyone in specific. im just wanting to open up a discussion on whether this is now an acceptable part of the community?
That is the sickest thing I can imagine in game. There are few things I can think of to illicit this action! I think it's absolutely ridiculous, someone who even CONSIDER doing it!

Do you realise this thread is 3 years old?
I don't think this occurs much anymore.

I disagree, it's a perfectly valid tactic and best way to protect your e-honor. And we all know how very important e-honor is, ain't that right, Gunz?
