lol yeah, and also on a downside, im talking for the kinds here who go to school, some dont have jobs and verry much doubt our perents will pay for us to go to dreamworld to meet up with a bunch of people who we never met, but for the people who have jobs, thats cool would be fun

I will have a talk to Robe regarding options for Brisbane. The are many placesin Brissie I can get excellent discounts at- it is often just a matter of going in person and asking for a deal to be done.

Fair point. The more people involved, the better deals we can get.
That said, I'm looking into Galactic Circus in Melbourne Crown Complex.
They have Laser Wars there that I'm interested in.
We can get a deal for about 36 bucks a head which will include 2 games of Laser wars, bowling and unlimited games for an hour and a half.
I'd have to have more than 10 people interested though.
What say you people of Terra Australis?

Sydney is expensive though.
Dreamworld has already been pointed out as being expensive but like the rest of teh Gold Coast it's infested with Tourists.
Maybe also try contacting some of the University's in Melbourne as they hire out buildings and space... (and some give discounts if you ask nicely enough or go through some Uni contact) and... Caulfield Race Course does a nice function venue as well. Not sure about the other race courses. Depending on numbers one of the larger Town Halls may also suit.
If it is elsewhere, I just need some time to organise things, although that 'mini meet' in Melbourne that Nuto said she'd arrange sounds good as well, if the whole thing isn't here.

Ooooh Nuto, I didn't even think of Galactic Circus.
I used to frequent there at least 3-4 times a week, and I've been to a few parties there, where they rent it out for the day

.
If we all pooled in, we could probably rent it out.
Ooooh, they also have other options...
Galactic Circus MEGA PARTY
$29.95 per person
(Recommended for ages 5 to 12 years old)
2-Hour party
1.5 hours of unlimited interactive game play in Galactic Circus - Non-redemption games
Party room with helium balloons & colored décor
Party hosts roaming the floor to run competitions for all party groups and giving away cool prizes
Party Food served in party room - Mini pizza, sausage rolls, party pies, chunky chips & potato wedges
Unlimited soft drink during the party
Look at the age though

.
I presume the "2 hour party" gives us 2 hours of our own in their hire room. Maybe we should split off the rooms... One for the CoP and one for the alliances attempting to take them down ^_^. I'll bring the whiteboard markers

.
This is pretty cool though...
• Parties can add additional time at any of our 3 venues for:
• $6.00 - 1 game of general bowling
• $6.00 - 1 game of Highway 66
• $6.00 - 1 game of M9 Laser Wars
• $6.00 - 1 hour of games at Galactic Circus
We could add in 2 hours of Laser Wars for $12. That this is amazing. The "map" moves every time you play

.
I shotgun the Max Tune 2 machines

.

I did see that, but its for kids parties.
The adult hires are more expensive, coa natural, we eat alot more and we make more mess.
I really like the idea of Laser Wars though. Lets see how many games I can kick your butt in in the real world huh Whiety?

wow i dont check the forums as often as i used to because i have now since quit but i am very interested in going to this convention. The only problem is things a going to be very hectic for me in the coming months, i leave for india in a few days and dont get back till jan. 31st. But then all February i am free and then in March i am joining the navy which wont let me take any leave until May.....i think.
Now anyway, if u r having the party in February i heavily suggest the whitsundays because i live here *yay*, but i doubt any convention will be setup so soon, so otherwise i suggest melbourne because i may be able to sneak out of basic training to come catch up with some peeps from the greatest game in the world. Plus now that i think about it Fortis would be down at HMAS Cerebrus (An hour and a bit south of melbourne) at the time that this party is probably going to be planned aswell.
Anyway in short, if set in february i choose Whitsundays!!!! Otherwise vote #1 Melbourne

Im in Melb, and i can prolly get a hold of from 5-20 venues, depending on the size etc. I dunno how you figure melbourne is expensive, cars are alot cheaper down here than brisbane lol >_> and public transport down here is cheap as.

Dreamworld would be great, and noone ever pays full price to go there (unless your a fool:P )
there are always shop-a-dockets and stuff that do adults at kids prices etc
