Anyone can catch up if they know how to raid. I have raided like 65mill in 2 months.
All the admin needs to do is lower the market for the smaller players to help them catch up faster.

there will always be barriers in a game like this
whether it be a player with a bigger army size or the player with the biggest army size standing at a NAP
these things happen, wat can ya do except sit back and either play the game or else dont

What I suggest:
Above 100,000,002 and raiding is no longer possible. Above 75,000,003 and trading/buying units no longer possible. Pergatory is not accessible above 29,999,999.

Has anyone ever though about a few tweaks such as:
1) Making the Market Dynamic based upon your own personal size. As you grow bigger, the Ingame Market gets more expensive while its a lot cheaper if you're smaller.
This Price Varience takes over from the polarised galaxy economy we have in place in which Raiding was the way to go as even with current prices, still produces a large profit and as such the mass purchase of turns had a counter productive effect on smaller players being forced out of the market.
Also this effects Broker, which will be modified so that it is in effect a market between two players instead of player giving any amount of resources to player with nothing in return. This means that Player 1 brokering ATs to player 2, Player 2 will have to have the true value resouces available [Based upon his size] to accept it.
Once this is in place, there is no need for the UU buying Cap nor the Raiding cap as Little Players can Buy turns cheaper and can catch up via raiding or selling turns to larger players for huge profits to put in UP. This means that the growth from small to player to mid player isn't as tough as it used to be while the dynamic prices themselves act as a cap on the growth of mid - large players.
Mid - Larger players will then have to think about buying ATs as they won't be ridiculously expensive, but enogh to make them think what to spend it on instead of just raiding.
What this means is that:
Secretly Funding alliances in wars end.
Throwing massive amounts of resources at players to get the to grow stupidly fast without any time or experience ends.
Multi-ing becomes less effective due to the new form of trading/market.
It Introduces Stratgy back in the game. How are those ATs going to be used, should we wait for natual generation, should we save them for big players, should we raid or should we farm or should we sell to even bigger players.
It introduces a new Strat - Economic Starvation. That of Blockading and chocking/starving off an alliance. The new market means no Freebies, no sending of massive amount of resources from larger players to basically have an unlimited amount of resources available. Someone wants turns, well they better have the naq or UU for them or they've been effectively starved out. This means farming someone each turn truely starves a player.
Resources and ATs run out, more and more players are unable to buy ATs or participate and so Wars can be actually be won then instead of the stagnataion they are these days.
This means war isn't about who has the most AT available or the most amount of sellers or big friends funding. This means its a planned event. It means weeks of preperation, co-ordination, saving up naq. It means a long recovery after war so its not something to just shrug off and mean nothing.
It also means massing down a Large defence will cost so many turns and effectively shut down that many attackers in the process, that it is a COSTLY investment and act to commit, not the casual walk in the park it is today. It means that defences aren't sold in war the very second they start and seen as a burden. Defences are just that - Defences, they should not be a burden, so that having a high defence actually means something. People will have to plan strikes, prioritise targets, work out who is cost effective to take down and who isn't.
Just a few ideas, i'm sure there's flaws or ways to exploit it, but its just an initial idea that needs to be worked out/ironed out, modified so that it is a viable solution to MANY of the games issues.

Thats why I said that the Broker would be like a Market between two players. Same rates as the ingame market, just that its between two players. Of Course Direct sent may need to be modified but generally Bigger player buying ATs off smaller player would still pay his large rate while a Smaller player buying ATs off another player would pay his rate.
Resource trading on the Ingame market then makes it 3 Guarenteed Trades while you have to form your own trade networks, another aspect of the game. It'll mean that smaller players have a use and that Larger and smaller players will work together to be effective. I.E A larger player can down a defence but then use a smaller player to finish it off/use more turns as they're more easily available to him. It means that all teirs and sizes of players have use and a purpose.
Of course a side effect of this is basically destorying the Cash trade and Scamming altogether but hey, its a free game and I don't play for finances.
Like I said before, this is just a Concept. It needs a lot of work before you can truely call it any sort of solution as there's many things I haven't looked into or thought about or have the experience to know about. Just offering an alternative option to all the other ones already offered/presented. Take it/leave it, as long as it stimulates more discussion on the topic, it's served its purpose.

Raiding doesn't need to be removed... - it does help people catch up, But. The artificially produced turns do need to be removed... seriously instead of spending an hour raiding for 500k you could spend 5 minutes raiding for 500k. Instead of becoming who can spend the most time and throw the most turns into raiding it becomes who can raid most efficiently... mabye increase the % of uu stolen per hit as well.

I like this idea, it would mean inactive farm accounts would be more useful; larger players would hit the cap earlier; and smaller players could catch up quicker.
