i dunno, naruto has always been a fairly smart cookie

use of shadow clones against Kiba in the chunin exam was a very early example

but yes, his tactical and strategic use of shadow clones has improved to an impressively high level

There is smart, and there is instinct.

I liked it when he would surprise us, not out smart us.

what abt when he forms a shadow clone shurikan when he and sasuke are fighting zabuza?

thats basically what he is doing now, just on a grander scale with the FRS

although imo naruto does rely almost 100% on shadow clones, the fact that he can form so many, use them so diversely (for training, spying, gathering natural chakra etc) and with his high powered attacks (Rasendan,FRS and sage mode). Naruto is definately gonna end up being 4th Hokage

i mean, the hokages job is to protect the village, and naruto is currently doing so much more effectively than tsunade lol

The fighting with Sasuke? That was pure instinct. The timing down, etc etc. The plan though just came to him.

The reason why Tsunade isn't doing much is simply because she cannot. Naruto and Pain are on a level higher then any we've seen before. Higher than Jiraiya (just look at how Naruto completed the Sage Jutsu in PERFECT FORM where Jiraiya couldn't and he did it in half the time or less).

Sasuke + Naruto vs Madara will be my favorite..if it ever comes down to that.

Yep, he is getting a bit too smart, but I guess if you are going to be Hokage you have to be pretty smart. Maybe there will be an episode where he beats Shikamaru in Shogi.

He does rely a lot on the shadow clones, but that is what has made Naruto. Can you imagine if he learns the Flying Thunder God Technique and combines it with his shadow clones.
