on the serious side, i really do believe that the office of ombudsman would be best severed by some one who is not of the major alliances. Often one charges the other with mod bias already. I know kill, and i do not think he would do that, and from what i hear of bill and the others, the same can be said But that would not change the fact that bias, even unfounded, could be called by the other side. Some time the charge of wrong doing is as bad for the person as the act.

this is why Majorlee should be elected. Her ties to the whole of sgw is large, and she has proven herself a player who understands the issues that effect the game, and as a regular poster from both the temple to the Colosseum , she has a first hand experience with both these similar but different parts of the forum.

I do however agree that the job might be best served by someone outside the regular alliances. The only person whom I think could do the job without bias and whom isn't in a major power anymore....is a mod

Other then that, I don't see anyone who won't be influenced by threats ingame, or by attacks ingame. That's the only advantage to choosing within a major power, is that they are free from threats.

Bill you know we're good friends but if you really believe that I think you should withdraw your candidacy because there are people who cannot be threatened into doing this. MajorLeeHurts cannot be, Killatacular cannot be, and I know many others including myself who would rather die than give in to a threat.

I said outside a major power, and i have no doubt that they would rather die ingame lol. I am saying long term. Eventually, if someone is sat on enough, they leave or ask admin for a new id number. However, you and I both know that players from the major powers will go hunting ombudsman if they get pissy about a call..

As for Majorleehurts, and killatacular...they are both in major powers.


As for me. I don't care if someone threatens me If I can't hit them, I can usually arrange it

I thought it'd be good to call someone out on their words.. or rather, ask them to clarify what I feel is a rather ambiguous statement.
But perhaps that's more suited for something that's taken more seriously by certain people.. sad to see the big mouths of those claiming all this to be a joke. One wonders.

Oh.. and frankly.. one would wonder how 'perfect' a certain person, currently receiving some strong nominations would be for the job, given their current behaviour. I seem to recall courteousness and moderation to be virtues required of an ombudsman? Ah well.. popularity votes. One has to smile at them, no?

Major powers can be easily influenced because they have so much to lose. I have proven that.

If your saying that only Wolf359 could not have been influenced then you really don't know the community man. Priller and myself are just 2 examples of people who were sat on for atleast 3 months in a row and have never gave in. And you are also practicly admmiting you could if someone strong enough would threaten you (ETL, Svarun, Blahh, etc)

There is always someone who can destroy your account, and if your gonna sell out to save yourself, don't even bother running for this possition.... Again I like you as a friend Bill, you're one of my best buds, but I'm dissapointed you said that...

Thanks for refering to FS as a Major power , but we are no empire.

I have no fear of threats in game please do not assume I will not battle for my self, and I wouldnt ask for help

If the Ombudsman is fair and equal there should be no reason to have fear or spread fear.

Ariel , I would be happy to have a serious conversation and believe one is due and should be required. Please feel free to start a thread for serious discussion perhaps a question and answer format would be fitting unless you have a better format. I believe this topic was created for a different purpose.

I will assume your talking about me. If not then my apologies. If you want to call a person out please state a name. I can honestly say I have not been the kindess person towards you in the past a jab here and there but my actions after the TLE v. Barbarian war has taken a dramatice change for the best.

Myself - I could care less if someone sat on me, I was, once again clarifying. Talking about those that I KNOW, on their own...which is about nobody.

Don't put words in my mouth about me being threatened and giving in, as that is a lie. I would never do such as that. I've seen mods abuse their position, I've seen mods cave. It happens. Buck had a breakdown once upon a time if i recall.



Now. The reason that I stated wolf359...if you look, i'll check to make sure i posted it correctly. Is that he is not attached to a major power, and I trust him, and know him to be unbiased. If I quit TG, i'd list myself along side him.

If others quit on either side, I can think of those that would go next to his name.

But someone brought up non-alliance non-fuall/tdj types. That is why i said what i said.
