So theres pros and cons to this seems to be the consensus, the main pro being youre not gonna get randomly massed, well you are by the dollar spenders who can afford to buy the ats weekly. Others talk about strategy improving due to the dearth of ats, i dont agree with that as i used strategy to grow my account precisely cause there was a decent market for trading naq for ats, thats now at 700 bill per k and will increase steadily, even if you raid for 15 bill per 12 ats your only making 50 % profit on naq and spending a lot of time doing this. So all this will do is decrease the numbers playing as costs are too high unless you wanna spend real money and then you may as well go buy games instead on ebay. I really like this game and have done for about 2.5 years but im not gonna be held to ransom on buying ats via $ or trading and will just mean i move on to another game if this is how sgw is going

I wonder did admin make that as an update to only affect perg, as its supposed to be slower in there, but it glitched and affected the entire server......

Well, there was an immediate drop in AT prices with the ending of the server war. Now, even tho we aren't sure wether it is an update or a glitch, AT prices has already began to rise again.

So @ the "oldschool" guys: don't tell me this won't hurt gameplay much :?

its all about making ppl using some lil $ to buy at's , once the war is over ppl will look to farm and rise up again. well there will be less high priced at's. and i bet there will be more multies and feeders

All this talk of strategy and reducing random massing is, sorry to say, idiotic. My account is nowhere near as good as most. I needed low AT rates so I can farm, buy UU, buy ATs and still have enough naq left over to boost the MS a bit.

Everyone who's talking about more strategy involved in massing is most likely an end game player, they're done building their MS and what not, they only need ATs to mass and rebuild most likely. Yes for them this wont do much.

What about the rest of us? Our growth is pretty much limited to how much we generate on a PPT now. That's just gonna slow us down like hell.

Someone with an army size less than 5mil, are they expected to ever catch up now without spending cash?

I agree,

Also at all those who say this will hurt old school, not likely, most of the old school players make enough income and up to easily keep buying AT's, its the middle sized players who are going to get stung, they cannot afford the AT's but will be farmed by the very AT's that they will try sell.

They are expected to catch up after spending a similar amount of time on the game as the 'end game players'. Maybe a bit less due to the prevalence and abundance of resources, but definitely not within a few months after starting to play.

And realise this. The real big $$ players? You'll never get them. Why? Well.. just take a look at the Market's supplies, and you can see the massive discrepancies in that regard. :) When you compare your growth, your size to $$ players, it's not about catching up. It's about not falling much further behind. And I'll agree that with this situation, you will fall further behind.

Could a 10 year old have achieved the same as a 30 year old who's had an active life up to that point in his life? Or could the achievements of the 10 year old prodigy compare to the achievements of an 80 year old captain of industry who has dedicated his life to furthering his knowledge, his riches, expanding his imperium?
No matter the genius of players, time will always be a crucial element. And time, you cannot catch up to. Unless you outgrow the growth of the growth of others by several multiples.. :P

This is why I gave up on EVE. Over in that game, your skills improve depending on how long you have been in the game as opposed to how much time you spend on it.

Unfortunately we all have a finite lifespan. Its not right to say I cant catch up to the older players simply cos they started the game 3 years ahead of me or something. That kinda makes me feel like its useless to play on.

If that is the case, what incentive is there for newer players to keep playing? They'll just be on the receiving end of massings, not just from $$ players but also those who have been in the game longer and will have no chance to fight back.

Tell me, then, Offensive, how could a really new guy prevail with no ATs? If you are a starter, you have no FSS, so you could only rely on ingame market. Which, as of now, has next to no ATs.

That 4 ATs per turn really is nothing, so I can imagine that a fairly new player would have a hard time getting FSS in the old fashioned way (collecting GnR).

BUT even if the new guy gets an FSS, then what? Can he/she afford buying ATs from another player? With 5-10M armies, unlikely.

So, the newly registered players could rely on BM only, otherwise they will never catch up, not even with middle sized players. And I bet 90% of the new players would hit 'delete account' before spanding cash on a free browser game.

That said, if this was an actual update, then in a few weeks/months, main server will be pretty much like ascended - DEAD.

well this update will kill game playing and admin did not implemented an update to improve it, its the core free player that will suffer it mostly and if they leave due to them understanding that they cant rise up anymore , "no raiding" or "cheap farming" dead account using time over quantity, then wit who we play, its already dying.

i understand that admin shall put a little stop to heavy farming but at's arent the key. i belive its the naq ratio generation that makes ppl farm more.
lowering at's in the market makes them costly and so fighting becomes too costly, then wheres the point.

WE ALL CAN DECIDE TO STRIKE against these decisions.
