I have same problem with my def weapons it claims it will cost: -1.230.000.000 to rep and i cant and not only that: 5,955 / 5,750
Just so admin knows.
I do to have the same problem, but it seems to be fixed now when the next turn has come through.
Also some of the surveys don't seem to work for me, they give me a message like "sorry we don't have any surveys to you at this time" or " the survey is closed" or something similar to these kind of messages, I have completed 1 so far but some won't go through for some reason for me

One question about the updates page, where it says:
* Planet Defence Costs: Decreased so planets are more defendable. The multiplier for increasing the cost of each planet defence upgrade, as you get more and more, is: 1.5 * (existingDefenses / 200000 ) whereas it WAS: multiplier = 2.0 * (existingDefenses / 100000 ). In short, the over 700k defenses got less incrementally expensive, with jumps in cost less, and the frequency of jumps halved.
If I understand this correctly is it referring to Defence Platforms?

I believe it is just natural defenses.

Planet defenses, Clarkey.
I have 3 planets with 500k planet defenses. Cost for next defense was 180m before the update. Now it's 135m.
My platform costs stayed the same, but I won't mention what they are at

Ok thanks, I never realised the costs used to increase except when you upgraded the planet, with the biggest costing 90m per defence. lol

Only difference is that the snipers building 50b defenses can now say, "Look, I have a 100b defense."
*One note... I thought that it was said in the admin meets that costs for defense planets would = those for attack planets.
Planet Attribute: + 200,000,880,000 Defence
555,558,000 Naquadah per next increase
Planet Attribute: + 200,001,150,000 Attack.
444,447,000 Naquadah per next increase
@1 maybe it was to nerf a bit planetary & ms effect?
lets say you had 1T strike & 300b planets along with 300b MS strike, that gave you 1.6T strike tops
now its 2T from manned strike & 300b planets/MS so 2.6 in total
@2 i dont have the sheets now, but i think i remember from old times that def planets gave you a bit more bonus per upgrade (not counting the size multiplier), than strike planets, so youll need more upgrades on strike planet to get equal value of planet bonus and more upgrades = next one is more costly

Like all the updates, you should have kept the weapons costs though.
Good job admin.

I actually think theres something wrong with the numbers based on a bit of testing in beta earlier.
On a mind blowing planet defense
0-500,001 = 90,000,000
500,002-600,001 = 135,000,000
600,002-800,001 = 270,000,000
800,002-1,000,001 = 405,000,000
As you can see there is a 100k step in there when I think the steps are supposed to be 200k apart. Also the costs don't seem to increase by 1.5 each step.

if it is pointless, and it does not bother you, good enough for me

and on the planet def is now slightly more benefit than att -fitting with the whole def theme of the updates.
yes, it was meant to make it...it is now live.
checking math on costs / steps now...--it is 1.5 except the 'exception' stutter step where it is a quick jump of 100k....the rest are 200k and 1.5 --once you get over the 100k 'hump' ...

well i dont know what happened ... but my def was 660 before updates ... then it went to 1.3 tril .... now its dropped to 880 bil

I'm not to happy with the doubling of the attack and defence. That made any planets(with a attack or defence stat)pretty much uselles, compared to before. Example:
200bill defence before from planets was in a ratio of 1:1 to a before 200bill attack
200bill defence before from planets is now in a ratio of 1:2 to a before 200bill attack(now 400bill)
Is that cool for all the people that invested heaps of naq into their planets?

Reading these posts would answer your questions.
But anyway....
Defence increased to 1.3t because weps got stronger and att and def planets doubled.
att and def planets doubling was a bug and is now fixed.... hence dropping to 880b
The negative repair was a bug that got fixed.

How do you nerf the effect if you're in essence allowing people to train half as many supers than before to get the full bonus of your planets and MS?
That's about as bright as the time you accused me of using scripts...
Defense planets always cost more to upgrade than attack planets and admin has stated he was gonna try to address that in the admin meets.

That was the intention of the updates all along - to reduce the power of planets and motherships viz a viz the normal stats of def and attack. And covert has similarly been brought into check. It brings back a better balance to the game, and seems to have worked quite well thus far.
