it started in one part when one memebr of a gang was killed by police. that i can understand being somewhat justified to a certain extent
the rest though is literally just so people can cause some trouble and raid shops etc no other reason for it

I have no idea what happened, and I am not truly concerned but I thought I would post and point this out.
Do you not notice how funny all of those names of the towns listed by Clarkey originally on the first page sounded? It was amusing.

Seems like i've just about been lucky today.
When I got off the train earlier in kilburn there were two PCO's literally running down the road telling all of the shops to shut and lock up and shouting for people to leave the area as looters were moving up the road.
I moved quickly down the road (towards where the looters were coming), what I saw was a good sight, about half a dozen police officers had a dozen or so men up against the wall being searched. That seemed to be all the trouble but i quickly left down the first side-road I could use. I have heard almost constant alarms for the past few hours coming from the high road.
One of my friends was not so lucky. She works in a bar in clapham and was trapped there for several hours whilst the looters were outside smashing up literally everything. She said at one point they set fire to the building two doors down and if they done the same to the bar she would proabably have died.... really scary stuff.

Is not sleeping well tonight.
EDIT: Having now read mordack's story as well as others mine really does seem minor in significance.

Really scary stuff. I'm glad you and your friend are safe. It sucks how I hear myself say "for now" in my head.

You can add Bristol to the list too.
Police station in Birmingham is/was on fire.
I dread to think what the 4th night will bring. Stay safe people.
@Noobert, there are much funnier names.

Had planned a holiday to London from Friday to Wednesday with an hotel near Gloucestershire Road. Is it still safe near there?
