What is this 'defeat' you mention? I only know it as the natural state of 'everybody else' (quite a few exceptions to that rule, but you get the idea). :o

Admitting a 'defeat'*cough*Sorry, still not used to pronouncing it.*cough* is only a 'win' if you never intended to win.

For instance, alternate 'intentions' with a fight could be: delay (stalling an enemy by dragging him down in a slow-moving battle, allowing time-sensitive things to be completed), destruction (destroying as much of the enemy as possible, without meaning to actually win the fight, a so-called 'fight of the dead'), confusion (sending a weak suicide-squad to be destroyed and make the enemy believe your total strength is far less than they imagine) and so on.
