(going by your thought that this game should be based on Star Gate sg1)
If you sent your naq directly to your stronghold from the broker everyone would know where it was and thus be able to attack it. Thus you send it to your home planet first and then use some secret method to move what you can to your bank.

The stronghold or alpha site is a kept secret between you and your allies. If you trade with someone off world then you will no doubt have a ship to carry it all and you wouldn't waste time taking it to your world and then to your alpha site, you would go straight to your alpha site because it is faster and hidden, everyone knows the location to your home world so you wouldn't risk it.

But at least your homeworld has some defence on it. What if the naq was marked with a tracer, then the person your trading with would know exactly where your bank was.

Well, I'm bringing this back becasue I drank some coffee and this is bothering me...I tested what I postulated today, and what I though was confirmed.
I write this to brainstorm how to 'patch' this hole, and not to encourage people to do it.
So, I was doing some thinking today and for a while now about the 1% leak. It is possible for someone to use all their ppt's(six days) and to do brokers while on it without regard or in penality of the leakage.
I, for example, could use all ppt's and do brokers on them and only have to worry about one day of leakage. This would allow for me to be on ppt for 6 days do all the brokers I want, holding as much naq as I could in the bank without any consequence for those 6 days, move everything into. att./def. for one day and then do it all again the next week.
So, I was thinking to avoid this either put in a patch to:
-no brokers while on ppt
-the leak is attackable on ppt(probably not easy to code), and impossible to see if someone is on ppt
-limit the number of brokers possible when someone is on ppt, either per week or per ppt
Thoughts?

A ppt is 2 days, so unless you are talking a Sunday night start, to Saturday night finish, you can only be on ppt for 4 days per calender week, with 8 day chains possible if you attach your 2 ppts to each other, but then you have 3 days off of ppt regardless. This is ofcourse assuming that you are not ascending during this time.

You're right about the ppt...I don't know why I though of it as a reg. market trade.
Any thoughts on the brokering while on ppt then? Change when I said s to four and the problem still exists? Maybe people do see it as a problem?

I know several alliances have set themselves up for three members to be on a rotating PPT schedule, once per week. Anyone who needs to bank naq sends it to them and it's simply transferred around from week to week.
If admin was feeling really evil, he'd implement a 5% transaction cost for transfers between players.

I guess it really isn't a concern then?

On the contrary, I think the changes are of concern to a lot of players. Some are adapting well, others are struggling.

Is it just me, or is over-banking still possible, just with Leaking incorporated?
I sold some ATs today by broker, and the Naq went into my bank, more than i could normally hold, but the red figures showed leakage, i then spent the naq to take me back down to normal levels...

Either way it still comes down to penalizing the smaller players on whom we depend for farms and trades

I think most of the game updates on the bank are fine. Too much complaining about how the "big guys" get all the advantages. Well, they should, they've been playing a lot longer than most of us have. The only thing that I would change is Income Planets being able to get bank size also like it was. Other than that, build up miners people. Go raiding. Don't try to create massive accounts in a matter of months. That only makes being powerful an everyday occurence and nothing special.
