The little things give you away is a modern day epic, which didnt get alot of recognition, probally cos it was track 12.

Very much agreed. It's the only song of theirs that I can really listen to anymore.

I used to like them a lot, but when they try to be 'angry' in their songs now it sets my teeth on edge. :?

Like most people have said old time favourites, i still enjoy listening to their old music and 1 or 2 of their new songs are alright.

Faint/somewhere i belong/lying from you/papercut/crawling/one step closer/etc all the good stuff :-D

Disliked the Jay Z mix's... althought numb/encore i could listen to but the others were as if they cut pieces from each song and just played them out *which is probably what they did*

I like most of Linkin Park's old stuff but I don't have any "new stuff" so my opinion isn't worth much ^_^

I'm really glad to see this thread, LP is my fav band, I love more or less EVERYTHING from them (including their underground stuff, and Fort Minor) The only thing I hate is the Jay-Z collab.. But hey, Numb/Encore was good. All in all, their music has helped me through some tough times, and I'll always appreciate their music!

i havent bought it yet, dont think i will. the bits i have heard (TV etc, not illegal  ) seem to be nowhere near the quality of their older stuff. i cant tolerate 'bleed it out' even tho all ive heard of it was like 4 seconds of it on the TV commercial. chester aka bono tries to go too heavy for the rest of the music imo.

and am i correct in assuming that the rest of MTM never gets heavier than about the level of what ive done (and pull it off)?

older LP stuff is good tho. tho i have moved on and all the hype i had made for them in my own mind seems to be let down a little when i go back and listen to the other stuff. ah well......

M2M is a much different style then their old stuff, I agree.. However, I believe they really pulled it off IMO. Most fans of LP don't like the new album because it's not as hard as their old stuff, but it brings in fans of softer music. I like a wide variety of music, hard and soft, and I love the new album. I admit, their old stuff is still more awesome then M2M, but "Leave Out All The Rest", "What I've Done", "No More Sorrow" and "The Little Things Give You Away" are epic IMO. If you keep an open mind and not expect the same old thing, you'll probalbly enjoy some of these songs.

Music aside, their new videos are a dissapointment to me.. all accept "Leave Out All The Rest", which is my fav music video ever!

I listened to an interview where Mike Shinoda said the main drive behind the album was making an album that wouldn't fit Linkin Park's station on pandora.com.

That's what they've always said about their music, I remember with their first album watching an interview and Mike Shinoda saying that they didn't want to be classified under one style of 'rock' they wanted to be something new and completely different. They got away with it for a few years, I personally just file them under hard rock
