Meh, I think playing a sniper account would be a fun way to play ascension. That said, I suspect that eventually Jason will take action to correct the situation. When/if that happens, the people who have only built their account to have a massive strike potential will be in a world of hurt.

In most cases, building a balanced account is going to be the best way to stave off negative outcomes from future changes that happen to the game rules over time.

EDIT:

There is another option, albeit less desirable. Vacation mode. If the people that are getting farmed constantly put their account on vacation mode, they can't be farmed. The resulting loss of 50% of bonus on main is minimal and relatively insignificant. You still keep your ascended blessing.

It would prevent your accounts from providing fuel to build sniper accounts while you work with Jason on a solution. As it is, you just continue to help them build to higher and higher levels.

Well, as I said it's not the most desirable. It's more about damage control while working on a solution. This is quite a mess at present and I find it hard to believe that if Jason would allow it to continue if he were aware of how unbalanced things have become.

Has anyone gotten to talk to him on an admin chat and presented the significant problem?

Yes. He is listening to ideas. He doesn't want the phasing system to work like that of main, but he doesn't like the current system either. He also said that to some extent he likes the varied style of play...

The game has been leveled enough with the change is upgrade prices, this sniper stuff is a bi-product where even descension isnt a viable tactic to defend ones self. snipering i agree with but the fact you cant really do damage to the attacker is the problem.
descension is becoming a joke im afraid.

It almost always has been a joke, due mainly to it being brought out 2 years after the server started... >_<

Ill put it simply for u, they build up like 500mil planets, put em all into strike, farm the first page, spend the DMU on just making more planets, get completly wiped out by the next turn and then with high planet production just do it all over again.

That's a brilliant idea ~Pheonix. I might consider myself when I get in the CAP but on the other hand, I may never get to recover because of all the accts sitting on me.

He also doesnt seem to understand how ascended is hyper accelerated compared to main. His slow response to problems is creating more problems faster then he seems to even concider fixing them.

I don't think he even tried playing.

Just because they're open to everybody, it doesn't mean everybody knows what they're talking about.
