I remember a vote once, most players in 2005-2007 found the game through SG related forums, sites and searching the web for SG games.
Due to this cascade of cancellings, as Stargate franchise is dropping down, old "habits" have to be changed as now you won't have an endless flow of motivated people who would be more perseverant than new generation is. (ie: see the massers as Goa'ulds and feeling like getting slowly but surely into the game to take revenge eventually like the stargate teams did in SG1, or any other roleplay feeling towards a random massing that newcomers might have had in past; that now due to lack of game identity and people joining just to use it as a time spending thing and not as a stargate game to enjoy, people won't have anymore this will to play and just quit). You don't have the same will to play a game using a franchise you're fan of, and just a random game you joined as someone told you it was a good game to play, but not having the fan factor.

On this we can agree - but for us that enjoy role-playing as well as still playing it as a SG related game (which sadly it isn't) it's either to continue to enjoy it as such, or find a new game.

Why persist when it seems pointless?
Massing planet defences for ME is a lame reason, it's barely any ME. Massing to educate? You care so much about their "education" recruit them and build them up. It's how it happened before even during the time of the "educators". You want to act big and talk about how they need to fight up and be a man about it? It's a game and you're forgetting you play it for fun, not to show off your big egos to people who're new. Give them a chance to at least get a feel for the game then show some resistance. There's a thought.
As for advertising the ID in this thread, well that's just plain stupid and quite foolish.
If you wanna advertise so bad then advertise your farm list, people would much rather prefer that than a new player's planetary defences.

You can't just go around and claim to know how others play this game for fun. What's fun for me and fun for you can be two entirely different things.
if player X wants to show his ego for fun, then surely that's his right cause after all, it's a game.

If showing his ego and having fun in a multiplayer game means basically bullying new players from a game, then no, I don't believe it's his right. It's the same thing as if you and five friends pitch in and buy a football and then one of your friends punctures the football during a game, he's just a bully. He pitched in, he has the right to do it if he so desires, but I doubt anyone would say it was right and it's a game ruining experience for other people. Same thing here. And if you're denying the fact that you bully the people from the new game by such stupid acts then you're either being completely ignorant or in plain denial. Having a go at a player before he's even properly gotten the hand of the game isn't anything but bullying, and no one sees the attraction in a game of that sorts.

I can't speak for anyone else, but me and my mates only attack those that we know can fight back. In a game such as this - you can find many ways to do that.
And this isn't ruining a football, this is a free online game. And by creating an account in here everyone else can attack that account.
And it's well within everyone's right... just as well as it is everyone's right to fight back or leave. It's up to them - not to the one who attacked.
This game needs bully's, bad guys, educators just as well as it needs good guys and hero's etc etc.
It's part of role-playing and playing in a wargame.

It might be a free online game but it is also a multiplayer experience that people want to enjoy. It is essentially a football that may not have been bought, but it still shared with many people. Role playing should have certain limits, and offering to give out the ID of a player who hasn't even prestiged just to mass his planetary defences is going overboard with those limits. You might fight people who can fight back kjar, but not all people do. And despite what you say, an unprestiged player CANNOT fight back against anyone in this thread or who reads this thread without learning the game first. To learn the game you need time, not have your 132 trill work massed because certain people found it stupid. That does and will drive people away from this game and with good reason. If you were new to this game and didn't know anyone, did what seemed right to you and had it massed the next day, I doubt you'd stay. And if you would, other people won't, and that's the point.

Is that your default MO ?
And those on the edges of your seats, protecting all the players that feel the sudden urge to leave the game when they get trashed once or twice, don't get your panties in a bunch, you people should realy lighten up some.
New players will also look up to bigger stronger players, regardless of their style or methods.
The rightious are determined by the eye of the beholder.
And lets be honest.
Its not like every new player, by default, gets mashed to shreds on a daily basis :\

Actually guys, it was me formerly known as kryptkeeper and the king. i sold my 507 mil army acct because I was bored and wantd a new challenge. It was either that or put my acct on vacation and let it go. I also sold it because I need the money bad, I can barely keep food in my mouth nowadays. So I sold my account and started a new one. As far as how i spend my naq, who cares. I started a spanky new account for the love of the game. And to say the least I AM FLATTERED that somebosy posted an entire thread about me, I have trade feedback, been in wars. I am actually looking to buy an account now an ascended one and stick around, While granted I haven't been on these forums much I do enjoy the game and the company that a game of this magnitude has to offer. Hell I even recruited and brought 4 or 5 players in over the last year or so.
So as far as education goes, I will admit I have a lot to learn, as far as helping (i know i read it somewhere in here), who has an account for sale? that person will have naq. If not, planets wont be worth massing because I will begin ascending tomorrow at this time.
