However. we need to find a compromise.

We need to separate the farming and massing debates or we are going to keep going around in circles.
They are two completely different issues.

I agree as well robe, would make this discussion about massing updates far less complicated.

I think 5/30 with the phase count going up with each use would make it a better compromise. With 30, it would make it more costly for the attacker rather than just have the defender phase out. It would also mean that the defence CAN be taken down rather than a alliance repair watch man just stopping it halfway.

I personally would like it being taken out completely, I'm sure we all miss the days when stopping an alliance member getting massed meant massing the attacker back rather than just clicking a button and being done with it. If a compromise is required 5/30 seems more reasonable (less than 1 alliance repair per turn means it'll have to be much more selectively used).

And what do you do when your on PPT?

Also, why not reset the sizes increased through alliance gift, then empty alliance banks. This is the main problem in my opinion of all this weapons repair and alliance PPT. I have just my account in an alliance, and i need to pay 4B/bank increase, or weapons repair, or alliance PPT. For me to use one of those options/turn I'd need a personal generated turn income of 400B (1% being 4B)

Drop the ppt or just watch your mate go down in flames. Good old fashioned way, remove allaince repair/ppt altogether, everything was fine without them.

if one cares to save his friends then he shall join the fight not a couch patato , meh since admin introduced repairs and ppt ppl went in cov lvl for insidious massing and then finishing the spies only by using ats in 2-3 mins.
theres no fun , theres no strategy , just power vs power , and cuz game doesnt have other features to attract then it becomes boring playing a black/white txt.

actually I think alliance repairs and PPTs add a good twist. Armies are not obliterated in one night ;)
It takes time and several missions to break through the force of your enemies. I am not a fan of the old days when you could obliterate an entire alliance of 25+/- in 1 hour or less, and do that as 1 person, that was absurdity.
Both Alliance repairs and PPT should remain but be limited they are fine for now, but should remain open to reviewing and tweaking.

One alliance repair on its own will not block a massing.
One alliance ppt on its own can block a massing.

I think what Mezz and Lith are saying is that the combination of making sabbing more powerful and
releasing Alliance Gifts in the last big updates was the problem.

If you are to keep the alliance ppt, then a compromise is needed. And I believe Robe is right from the start. You should have not reduced it so dramatically in the first place and a lot of this bicker would not have happened. There will not be any update that everyone is completely satisfied with. You can only hope to balance it and the way they are now, its not balanced.

It is clear only a very small number of players are discussing the updates here


I suggest a poll with several options and a 1st, 2nd & 3rd choice linked to the Command Center in-game, poll to include links to several threads here, one thread for each option where the people who feel strongly about it can make there case to convince people to vote their way.

I do agree with your point on 1 person massing whole alliances which is why one of my many previous suggestion was the Fatigue meter which limits the attacks 1 person can make and encouraging team work so everyone has to fight, not just the one with the strongest account or most $$s doing all the work. The Fatigue meter also meant having a new attack button, one for stealing naq that would have low damage/losses and would not register on the meter, and one for actual combat which would do damage and register on the meter.

The suggestions archive is full of great ideas from players and if admin is listening to players and wants to improve the game he should really have a look through the archive and put the best of these ideas to the players in in-game votes.

What about phasing? If you have 120 repairs a day and phase at every second repair, you'll have 60 turns of phasing coverage. 60 turns of phasing coverage on a day with 48 turns means a solid shield defending you from anyone who'd attack you. Simply have a few minor players provide rota cover fire and hit you with low strikes, phasing you continuously without you taking damage (and whatever damage you take, is repaired by the AR) .. can be invincible.

At 50 AR per day, at least you won't be able to last the whole day relying on AR and phasing.

The fatigue meter would also make it harder for smaller players to attack bigger ones, even if they gang together since its hard as it is.
I agree with the idea that alliance PPT and repairs should be limited.

How ??? Suggest you go and read it, it only limits the massings 1 person can do in a set period of time. It would actually help smaller players as the bigger players in warring alliance would have to use their time to fight people at there own level and allow the smaller members to fight each other.

But anyways, off topic for this discussion, as I said there are many good suggestions for admin to review in the archive, the suggestions area has had to little admin attention for the past couple of years.
