I know, you are right. I thought leaving forums would be enough for me to try to get off that but I can't stand what some people say to her and can't not react to that that's why I kept posting here. If there hasn't been such posts I wouldn't be here posting that much. I think I'll join just misc section so I'll not want to post anymore there.

Well to be honest i don't think the mod team has suffered from this issue, if anything they have gained some respect from me.

Once the info came out Mods (including community Liason Mystake) discussed the issue on the mod forum and were quickly in place to discuss the issue in public when it flared up. The Admins quickly admitted they were not aware of the true identity and then showed some pluck by standing up for the decision and let her have the 2 weeks on trial. We may not all agree with that, but thinking about it then it seems reasonable to me, it's kinda nice to have admins with some belief in people, even if they made mistakes in the past.

Personally i think it's much better when things get discussed rationally in public instead of hidden, it makes the community feel more in touch with the staff.

I don't know about anyone else, but my opinion is that 2-3 months ago this would have been a lot more damaging to the forum and staff alike. I feel like the forum has grown up a little bit and that is a good thing to see.

@ Apophis The Great,

Mate, stay and post. Become an active poster just as I hope Elladan does.

@ Borek

Thank you.

Elladan no longer has the 2 week trial. Within I think 2 hours of this thread being made the powers she had were removed.

Can you please not ignore the little fact I gave them up, prior to finishing the conversation with Smoosh that it might be better not to be a mod, thanks a lot... :?
Though indeed, they would have been taken had I not given them up, anyway.
Smooshable however never forced me to do anything; he stood by his earlier word the entire time. :)

I do agree with Boreks sensible and decent post. Hopefully another little thing I did (not something bad) helps with the other problem (which isn't me).

@Myseri: You cannot go back to that.. was cleared by admin on that count. How valid is your remark? :)

So really you're trying to say you voluntarily gave up being a mod?

And then even though you wouldve lost them anyway, right?

One thing that gets under my skin about you is how you write as to make yourself out to be the victim.

Nope, I said I broke my trial; after a good conversation with Smooshable.

lol.. you read something into my words that definitely isn't there. Oh, I can understand you would, but it is better to not try that route. :)
I am no victim, never said I was, never suggested likewise. All I say is I broke the trial myself, instead of being forcibly removed. There is not a single drop of victim blood in that sentence, nor a judgment of anyone elses actions. Sorry to disappoint you, sir.

mmm, I'm not, not really. Nor should Auriel/Elladan.

I had a good talk with her when she was Jadzia. I have forgiven her for what she did in the past, because not forgiving her would just cause bitterness and hate and life isn't long enough for that. (yes, what I am saying is, even if you can't forgive what she did because she's asking you to, do it for yourself.... the hate and distrust it causes not to slowly eats at you and makes you hard and bitter.)

However... just because I forgave her for what she did, doesn't mean I'm stupid or blind or going to allow her to pull a stunt like that again. And it also doesn't mean I trust her.

There is still a difference between forgiving and accepting.

I had no problem with her coming back as a forum user, it just meant there'd be one more person to watch, but as a forum mod, there was a mighty big problem and I made a mighty big fuss...

I hope that clears that up, Lore.

Is that before or after you sent the pm to remove you because you could't get on msn?

Your question is the answer in itself... conversation was through PMs. Don't see how that wouldn't be a conversation? :)

Indeed I told her we could wait this out a bit longer and see if you guys would change your mind but Auriel agreed that it would be best to stand aside and prove herself as a forum member.

It's what the bulk of people were asking for, it's what they were saying would be the right thing to do and now she's being critisized for that as well.

She's made some terrible mistakes in the past but she's done everything that's been asked of her this time. At the very least you could not punish her for doing the right thing now.

In all fairness smoosh, it's not that hard to understand why.

A large amount of people were sucked in an manipulated by this player/forum user, and it was in no way a small deal. People were genuinely concerned and I'm sure there were a few who were praying for the health of the invented character.

To ask for forgiveness after such a betrayal is a bit too much to expect, and although there will be those that can forgive and forget, I think you'll find that most people will just want this player to disappear and never return. Most likely those who actually cared deeply for the thread or falsified situation.

It's not enough to say sorry. At the end of the day, you need to take responsibility and accept that you won't ever be forgiven and that in itself is your punishment for what you have done.

We have all made mistakes, but there are lessons to be learned.

I guess what I am saying is fair enough if you can't forgive past actions, critise away. What she did wasn't good.

But she's being critisised for what she's doing now as well, which is what was asked of her. I just feel that is unfair.
