Abusive in-game messages.

This is an in-game message that an EPA member received from a member of a small alliance - no names, but the alliance was Elven Nation
Sublect: **** you cum sucker
Message text:
you know what you stupid jack off faggot, im not gonna take your ****ing **** you faggot ****, oh, i heard your **Filtered** ass is gonna get farmed to hell by some of my dear friends, oh, i think i hear your boyfriend calling so im gonna let your faggot ass go so you can get some ass have a nice day, love, your mama
Now, I know some people within the EPA do not have the cleanest of mouths - and if I receive a complaint then I make sure (or at least attempt to) that that person apologises.
But I am really getting fed up with messages such as this appearing - and it seems to be on the increase.
Really, what is the point of such language within an in-game message? It is simply the outburst of a pathetic, weak individual, who probably wouldn't say boo to a goose in the real world - BECAUSE HE/SHE IS TOO SCARED - so they must hide behind a PC and miles of network.
My son keeps asking me if he can play Stargate Wars - but I don't want some mentally deficient freak sending him a message such as the one above!
Language like this shows a lack of intellectual capacity and a limited vocabulary. Honestly - it is a lot funnier winding somebody up with a good vocabulary than it is using profanity.
For those that indulge in this behaviour, please go away and come back to the game when you grow up.

or do you want something done about it if so. what?
Mainly, I was giving my opinion of these narrow minded scrotes.
But yes, people shouldn't have to put up with it - I would suggest a word ecognition subroutine for in-game messaging - but it is probably more trouble than it is worth.
And, I know you can blacklist people - but that is generally only done after the event has occurred, so it doesn't stop it taking place, just prevents it re-occurring.

Maybe it can be made so Messages including swear words CANNOT be sent ....
Should stop all this abusive language ...

There is far too much of this stuff going on of late.
Apparently their theory must be, the more you swear, the more they will get their message through.

I have been getting them recently off players - most recently "bloki1"
There shouldn't be a place for this in the game - there should be a send abusive message to admin button that we can then forward to admin - so they can give the players involved a warning.

I still get them too. I like the idea of forwarding them to admin.

There is an option to block un wanted messages from players in the message system in game. I agree that this sort of thing is very bad. Perhaps people who send abuse, for a kick, should be banned for a week at a time from the game. I would suggest that should you fall victim to foul mouthed Nethanderals you record the message as proof with the time and date - take a screen shot and then e-mail Admin. That way it would 100% guarentee that the person[s] sending abusive messages in game are punished.
As a punishment I would use a grade system. A one off offence would result in a ban for 24 hours, two offences - a week and three or more offences a ban for a month.
Kind Regards,
Simon

I got one recently. From some newb 2 weeks after I stole 160,000,000 naq he left out in the open. Too bad for him, his terrible spy level meant I only had to send 10 spies to destroy all of his lesser weapons in 3 goes, then took him down to a few hundred weapons.
I took him down 500 or so places, and then he moved up some rankings with buying covert levels, which forced me to have to send TWENTY spies. OH NOES. He is now languishing around 4500.
He will be my **Filtered** for the rest of the time I play this game, or until I get bored.
Teach him some manners hopefully.
Only way I'll stop is if his commander (he's currently leechin off a top 100 player) asks me to. I doubt a top 100 player will care about him enough to do something about it.

In the spirit of harmony, bloki1 just got added to my "favourite victims" list.
I'm always in favour of a bit of naming and shaming.

i agree with most people here....the insults are getting a bit rediculous..i dont know if this was mentioned but maybe a swear blocker can be put into the message system like in the forums.....in the forums i noticed when you used *u*k it says friggin or somthing like that

you could just blacklist the sender?
Good Idea

I think the idea of sending it to Forum is good, but I don't think forum would have the time and maybe not even the resources to handle it....someone respectable and trustworthy and fair should be assigned to receive the messages...I would volunteer as I wouldn't mind the extra work, but I may not be as good a choice as someone with more administrative power.
But anyways, what I'm thinking is that someone be sent all these messages, then they reply to the people sending them with a pre-programed message (to save time) and then to follow-up on a repeat offense...either this person has the ability to suspend/kick or must forward their suggested punishment to Forum.
I also propose for this thread to be moved to the game suggestions forum.
