When you change to a basic race you loose all your bonuses that you had and will have the bonus of the race you choose.

You loose all trained UUs and banked naq, plus your techs. You don`t loose UP, covert levels, untrained and unbanked naq. It`s stated on the change race page.

NOTE: You can change advanced race to advanced race as long as you have race changes left to use. There are no ill effects.
BUT - If you change races (to a 'basic' race) you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE BACK to an advanced (post ascension) race -- at least not without reaching ascension again.

Advanced Races Benefits:
*Bigger weapons
*Each time you reach ascension level...either initially or with each ascended infusion -- you get a 5% bonus to covert, 5% bonus to attack, 5% bonus to defence, and 5% bonus to income.
(If it was you 2nd 'infusion' after initial ascension, you would be at 15% in all stats, as an example...)
*Be the envy of all basic races!

If you change races to a basic race, and choose to use an advanced race again on repeat ascension, you start at the minimum 5% bonus ... even if it is your 2nd, or 3rd, or 5th, time to reach ascension!
In short - you lose all cumulitive bonuses when you change races away from an advanced race! And cannot choose to be that race again until ascension is obtained again!

On the plus side, you can change races with no penalty (aside from that mentioned above!!)
Your weapons will be sold at cost, and the Naquadah deposited into your offsite storage.
Your cumulitive race bonuses, of course, will disappear. You will revert to JUST the bonuses of the race you choose.

show me where it says that ? all i can find is weapons will be sold and naq gets put in ur bank :/ is that it ?

If you wish to DESCEND YOURSELF - ie 'quit ascension' .. you can. You will become a 'Daimon' - basicly a fallen divinity...This is the only race open to fallen ascendeds who chose their own demise...The bonuses are: whatever your ascended account was giving to your main account at the time of banishing yourself, MINUS the ascended blessing (so no unique tech to this race.) (for example if you were prior, you got 5% bonus on att/def/cov/income, and the ascended blessing, and new weapon valus. You keep all but the ascended blessing.) A Daimon DOES NOT GAIN GLORY and, in battle and covert, TAKES DOUBLE CASULAITIES -- basicly, they are living fast and dying fast :). From this race, you can choose a fully mortal race, or keep this race. No other options

Daimon. Your main account will keep the ascension bonuses you have now, minus the ascended blessing, although suffer 2x the casualities in battle and earn no glory. There may be a 'bonus and penelty' added to this race in near future, that both hurts you and your enemy to a more or less equal degree. What this is is not yet determined. If you do not want to risk not liking a future update on this race, do not take it yet..(The ascended account is of course gone...)

So if i`m get it right you can not get back to the mortal race unless there is going to be a new update for the Race; Daimon

so back to the start, only weapons would be lost going back to a basic race and nothing else.

Surprising you don't loose UP & covert...when I ascended again not long ago from Prior to Prophet I lost them..unless it's special for Daimons I'm not one so I dont know)

ok i reset myself to a basic race, if anyone is wondering ... all that happens is you have to buy special technology as you wouldnt have any as a daimon, also the only thing you loose is your weapons get sold at cost and naq gets put in your bank.
