Miners and ascension

All,
When you start to increase you upgrade unit production it starts to increase the amount of UU you need to "give up" on ascension. So big UU means more UU lost in ascension. I understand that
So, Is it worth keeping you unit production low (raw) whilst at prior, Prophet, Messiah, Incarnate so when you do ascend you do not loose alot of units? or make it big and wait longer?. I guess the best is to wait longer to get more resource for a better ascension?.
However, for those with big armies 20mil plus, then is it worth having high UU output (unless not concerned with ascending again) prior to ascending again?.
Also, is it true that you must keep equal amounts of miners vs lifers, so if you have lots of lifers say 4 mil, then if you ascend first time to prior and you have a very low output 10K raw = 250K UU to give up on ascension, in fact you will need to leave 3.75mil miners and 250k UU untrained?
If so, is it worth sending the lifers on suicide missions to remove them from the calculation or keep them as they will help with income whilst the untrianed UU can be used for soldiers?
Apologies if been asked before but could not find a specific answer.
Thank you all.

As far as I can tell, it depends on whether you intend to play Ascended actively or not. Having someone to help you after you ascend and explain how the Ascended server works is recommended, unless you prefer learning from your own mistakes like I did

Either way, I think you need to see it first to be able to decide if you want to seriously play, so there's the option of doing a quick ascension first, then, if interested, build a higher UP on Main for the next ascensions to boost your Ascended server.
If you don't have time for or don't care about playing on Ascended, you're probably better off just ascending with a low UP, to get the bonuses and ascended unique technology. But again, you should first log in on Ascended and give it a try before making a decision.
The supposed rule about miners/lifers doesn't exist - so don't kill your lifers for nothing! They'll help your recovery after ascension. As for the rest of your miners, untrain them all and send/broker them to someone you can trust, only leaving the UU required for the ascension (say, the 250k UU in your example).
Hope this helps. Any more specific questions, just ask

Thanks for the quick response.
The supposed rule about miners/lifers doesn't exist - so don't kill your lifers for nothing
Why I asked was that when I ascended first and second times I untrained assassins, agents, normals and miners. Then deducted the amount I need to leave and broker the rest.
The problem I had was that I could not untrain all my miners. The amount of miners I had to leave was equivalent to lifers. No matter what I did.
So I am confused.
Can any one else confirm if this is the case or it was a bug, because it was very annoying.
Thanks

Strange... just to get this clear: after you untrained everything, did you have Miners(Lifers) 4,000,000(4,000,000) or Miners(Lifers) 8,000,000(4,000,000)? If the first, then no problem - it just means all 4 mil. miners were lifers (since lifers are, after all, miners). If the second, then I'd say a bug.

Hi, yes.
I could not untrain all my miners. Lucky for me 1st and 2nd ascension I did not have that many as I did not have a big defence to cover the naq made, but my third one I was a little annoyed as I had lost another mil.
I am wondering, if many people have an high UP rate they may not see this problem as the miners are equal to what they need to give up maybe.
I suppose the only way I can check is to untrain all my miners and to see for sure

Well. It is true. You cannot untrain your miners lower then your lifers, as Taxo has informed that the total miners is made up from lifers and miners
Do I feel silly. Must be to many times in the sarcophagus
Mystery solved.

I did ask you something along those lines

Glad it turned out OK

Yes, many thanks Lucky Starr. It is nice to see members in the sgw forums help.
You made me think and Taxo cemented the point

The Untrained Unit cost on your ascension, on your first one is:
30 x RAW UP... I don't nkow what it is for ascensions after that as I am still unascended and plan to stay that way

Starts @ 30x iirc, and increases another 5x for every ascension after that, so 35x for Prophet, ending at LG+1 being 60x, after that i don't know...
