not 100% sure, but it could be 1/10th of the disease limit...
(note: if you total population size is greater than 243,835,616 disease will surely strike your lands. Above 182,876,712 and raiding is no longer possible. Above 121,917,808 and trading/buying units no longer possible. Pergatory is not accessible above 60,958,904)

that limit is the old one, jack... Forum changed the limit, but didnt change the place where it says what the limit is...

Pergatory Limits Decreased
The maximum size realm that can enter pergatory is 20% of the 'unit maximum' before the plague strikes (you can see this value on your personelle summary&training page - it increases with time..).
If you are above 30% of this value, and in pergatory, you will be automatically removed.
This change is to ensure pergatory is not used and abused by very powerful accounts, but is there to safeguard the smaller accounts in time of need...

20% of 200 mil is 40 mil Lore...
my army is at 37 mil and i got kicked out of pergatory...
so i belive the limit is lower than 20%

I tried to enter perg, got this:
You cannot enter Pergatory with more than 24,383,562 total units. The Nox have ensured that. Damn the Nox!
So I assume it is 24,383,562, or 1/10th of the plague limit.
